Bherinnger 140 DUAL ENVELOPE/LFO Legendary Analog Dual Envelope/LFO Module for Eurorack

I've just bought the Kobol Expander which along with my Neutron and Pro-1 is 80HP so figured it was time to take the plunge and buy this rack. It's not cheap, but it is quality - good thick steel with nice paint / enamel. It's rock solid when it's set up, and fits perfectly on the small desk I have in my room. If you're dithering over the cost, just buy it - you won't be disappointed!

I now have the full collection of the 100m modules and they make me want to use my modular more than ever. I've always wanted the original Roland, but they're simply way too expensive, I have DIY'd some of the 100m modules in the past, but the part-cost alone (without taking the build time into account) is on par with a fully built unit, the Behringer versions have a really good finish too - way better looking than the Roland 500 series in my opinion. Each of my shelves is 168HP, which fits all units in (minus the 110 which is just cut down vesrions of what is already available in other modules). Aesthetically pleasing with a great build quality, especially for the money. Behringer are doing a wonderful job of bringing what have always been exuberantly overpriced modules affordable to the consumer, About time the other major players started to do the same. Keep up the great work, Behringer!

Not much to say about these 80 HP rack ears other than they look nice, they are very sturdy, and pairs of these hold my Neutron and Pro-1 in my rack nicely. Why 4 stars? Well, it’s £18 for two pieces of angled metal. I dunno. Maybe a bit on the expensive side? Behringer have to make their money somewhere, I guess!

Great value, good volume, great that there's two sets of stereo outs and multipliers

It's a simple couple of modules.The ring mod is nothing special.The noise outs are... Noise. Useful having 2 of each.The LFO is handy, ranges well and has the x1 / x100 output selector as well as positive and inverted out.And the sample and hold is a sample and hold.

Great 4 to 1 mixer that goes into subtle overdrive saturation at higher levels - pretty authentic moog clone.They're lots cheaper than at initial release too…

Amazon mushes all of Behringer's modules into a single entry, so to make things clear I'm writing about the Behringer 140 dual envelope/LFO. It's one of their Roland System 100-style modules. It's similar to the 150 ring mod/S&H/LFO, but whereas the 150 has been out of stock forever the 140 is widely available.Is it any good? It works, it feels well-made, the jacks don't wobble. I find the LFO most useful because it packs a lot of stuff in a small space. There's a simple 1/10th attenuator, a modulation input, a selection of waveforms and an inverted output. The envelopes are a lot more plain and don't have any modulation inputs. The sliders all have LEDs.Any problems? The envelope sliders have a short range, which is awkward if you want fast-but-not-instant decay. There's no selectable time range. Perhaps the first half of the sliders' travel could have been weakly logarithmic. At 16hp, with the envelopes arranged horizontally, it's relatively wide; if you just want one envelope and an LFO there are narrower options, although not as far as I can tell cheaper.

Looks good, fits perfectly.Bit on the pricey side for two bent bits of powder-coated metal.
