Having trouble attaching the shade the the white part of top of the lamp. Any suggestions?

Unscrew the plastic fitting at the bulb socket, then attach the shade and re-attach the fitting.

Can these lights be made shorter ? Are they adjustable?

No they cannot be shortened. The outer structure has the wiring running through it so it is impossible to adjust height.

What is the warranty for this item?

I’m sorry I have no idea what is the manufacture warranty for this lamp, perhaps a year or so, I didn’t keep the manual or the box, but you have until January 2023 to return it. I love mine, and it’s working perfectly every single day.
