How do you clean these pads? Do you need to pre-clean them before the actual cleaning?

It all depends on how soiled they were but here is what we recommend: 1. You can take a paper towel or a regular towel and wipe them off with it and toss the dust bunnies/hair in the trash. 2. Some people use an old bristle brush to take off the dust and the hair. They come off pretty easy. Once the majority of the dust is gone, you can rinse them in a bucket of water or under the faucet and either handwash the pad or toss them it the washer. Let them air dry. Hope that helps!

How do you get the pads into "wet" mode?

Any way that works best for you and your floors. Here are the top 3 ways customers use them. 1. Dip them in a bucket of warm water and add with your favorite cleaning solution if you'd like. Then use your hand to squeeze the water out to a wetness you'd like. Repeat when necessary. 2. Run them under a faucet and wring them out as much as you need. 3. Use a spray bottle or a cleaner as you go to spray the floors as you mop. You can also wet the pad beforehand if you'd like. Hope that helps!
