Can this be used on jewellery?

I hear it can but have not tried it

Is the varnish suitable for imitation silver leaf or only genuine metal leaf? as I have read that some varnish will tarnish the leaf and make it dull

I’ve used it on both imitation silver, gold and copper leaf and real gold leaf. It works the same but I’ve noticed that after varnishing the imitation leaf often has a darker finish / patina
