We bought these for our cats. We were using small bowls to feed them, but they had the regular 4x4 type opening, and there really wasn't enough room for their little faces to access their food properly. It was also very messy for the same reason.We've had these bowls some months now, and I am extremely happy with them. They're perfect. I see there are some bad reviews here, and I have no idea why that would be. The colors are good, they're resistant to chips and cracks, we use them multiple times everyday, and they look just like they did the day we received them.These are wonderful little bowls. I purchased 2 sets of these to use for a brunch we recently hosted.One of the side dishes was fruit salad with a maple-lime sauce and I didn't want the sauce from this fruit dish to spread across the entire plate and get into the main entree and other sides.These bowls are small enough so they can be placed on a full size dinner plate while still allowing enough room on the plate for the main entree and other sides too.It worked perfectly for this occasion and I can already imagine many other uses for these bowls too.They are the perfect size for a scoop of ice cream, would look great on a buffet for toppings, dips or sauces, or even used for mise en place items during meal prep.The oval shape and dip in the sides also make them unique enough so they would not look out of place outside the kitchen. They would fit right in using them on an entry table or bedroom dresser for keys, loose change or jewelry, even in a bathroom to hold cotton balls or q-tips.They came packed extremely well and are a nice basic white that goes well with any basic white or neutral colored porcelain dish ware. We tossed them all in the dishwasher after brunch. They nest nicely in the dishwasher and stack efficiently in the cabinet too.
