Great little wood gasification stove.
This stove is great. Yes you can make a wood gas stove for practically free out of cans, but this design is pretty bombproof. The trick to getting this stove to really shine is not putting bigger fuel above the burn holes in the burn chamber. You can put small tinder above those holes as they will burn down pretty quickly, but wood thumb sized and above should all be shorter than these holes. Theres plenty of videos on youtube of how not to load this stove, so don't go by youtube reviews alone. Its only getting a 3 star from me for ease of use as I feel at this price point this stove should have come with the ti crossbars and two small stakes for support at the bottom since this is a tall stove. If you want to run a 450ml or smaller toaks ti cup on this stove its a little unbalanced. I ended up buying the crossbars from their site and cutting them down with tinsnips so I can use the stove with my cup for coffee. Also the upper portion can be used with a trangia style alcohol burner as a pot support. I found it you stick tent stakes through holes of the upper portion, it puts the stove in a better position though. (see pics) I pair my stove with a homemade alcohol stove, and a notch pocket wedge for processing wood if its been raining.

Brilliant design, functionally perfect.
I really love this stove. Two days after I got it, our power went out for several days due to a massive thunderstorm in late July, with excessive heat and humidity. Too hot to cook indoors, so what better time to test out my new stove. There wasn't a shortage of broken limbs due to the 70 mph winds, so had plenty of little sticks everywhere to burn. Even though some were damp, they lit beautifully and kept the fire going for a long time. at least 20 minutes without refueling. I cooked out for three days of power outage, got to use up all the perishables that were in the fridge before they rotted; and had a great time, without wasting money on eating out, or hotels, or tossing food I already had, and by staying at home during the blackout. So I feel like I really made a wise investment in this stove. It worked like it should, exceeding my expectations when I really needed it. You could say I'm a happy, albeit backyard, camper!

A good compromise.
It sits a bit tall so the thing needs to be pretty full to get the full heat up on the pot, and it is tipper than other wood stoves I have. It stays together well and it is relatively easy to feed. Ventilation is good also. I find it very easy to take apart and stuff away with out getting as completely dirty as the Emberlit makes me, and it stays together better than the Vargo Hexagon. In the case of the Vargo, it not staying together well really makes it something you want to be careful using, Not good. With the Emberlit, the soot on your hands is not a serious problem, as the stove is otherwise amazing, but it is enough to make me less inclined to use it, when I am out walking and just wanting to make some tea. The Toaks is not quite as compact as those stoves, but it still nests well inside the Toaks 750 bail handle pot, with a liiiiitle bit of room to spare to put in something else. I did a Chinese style tea cup, as it is mostly a tea set up for me, but you could do a small supply of fire stuff or some other golf ball sized things and still keep them clean. If you are willing to get your stuff all sooty, there is a bunch more room inside the bag with the stove. I think one small improvement would be a slightly longer bag so that you could stuff it deeper into the stove to make more clean internal space. I think you could use just part of it as a stand for an alcohol stove, but I think that you would have a harder time with fuel tablets or gel. All in all a good stove, and I will have fun with it.

This is NOT a Coleman Stove
Fantastic product. Its small and collapses into itself which makes it even more fantastic. Use it to heat up water and to heat up small amounts of food from individual survival packets or from cans. It isn't a Coleman Stove or other device of equal size and capability. It is NOT designed to cook a meal but rather for individual use while out kicking around in the boonies. All you need is this, your food, your water, and a fire source, and you're all set. I also picked up the 750 ml pot which this small stove accommodates perfectly. In fact, the entire thing collapses into the 750 ml pot (which has a lid on it as well) and fits in a small pouch on your backpack. This is definitely worth the money. Simple design, no additional gear needed (like propane), only a few moving parts. Its perfect for what its designed to do.

Very flexible and lightweight wood stove!
I'm going to do a long term review on this after I've used it for an extended period but felt compelled to give an initial. This is a great little wood gassifier stove!!!! I've had consistent success with this over the last couple weeks. Fill the burn chamber with sticks, place a Vaseline cotton ball or your fire starter of choice on top, light, throw a few more sticks in a wait for it to get going. Then put your water on to boil and 6 minutes later your done and the soot on the pot is minimal. The titanium has very little soot build up as well once its burned out. I'm not saying there is no soot but drastically less than an open fire or non gassifier stove. The best part is the pot stand part can be used separately for an alcohol stove if you want that option. Overall I love this!! Looking forward to using his on a longer hike!
