ABR Waterless Fireplace Cleaner One Gallon Pail

This stuff works like a charm. It removed 60 years of soot and grime, leaving the stone looking like new. This was a difficult project because of the type of masonry (Texas Stone, which is loaded with fossils, and deep pits), but ABR was up to the task. No technical skills needed. We will be purchasing more for the upstairs fireplace (brick, so should be much faster), and we would highly recommend this product.

One gallon pail was perfect to complete a terrific cleaning of my fireplace interior. Important to follow ALL of the instructions. I used the 3 inch 3/8 nap all purpose paint roller and finished applying cleaner in about 30 minutes. I let the product set for 3 days and then could pull the product off the 3 walls and floor in 1 solid piece!!! It is important to get at least 1/8 inch layer on all surfaces but best if you put a bit more on edges and in all corners. Wonderful results and would highly recommend this product.

This product lives up to it's description. Easy to apply, easy to remove AND it WORKS! My fireplace brick had not been cleaned in over 20 years. After using ABR it looked NEW! So impressed I have reordered to do the brick surround for my woodstove!!

This is one product that does what it says! I was skeptical and while it was drying I visioned using a wire brush to remove the mess when it didn't work. Was I pleased! Fireplace had 15+ years of grime/stains/soot that came off! There are several places that need a second cleaning but this was expected. Things I learned on the first use; agitate with your brush/roller for a few seconds before applying the thick coat, there is a latex smell but it is the same as if you were painting the room with latex paint and waiting on it to dry, use a 'throw-away' brush and roller cover, brush/roll out any lumps in the product to get an even drying, it is dry when ALL of the white color is gone and is 'clear'. During application I caught myself looking back over previous work for 'holidays' and would touch up like I was painting; well, that was the cleaner working and pulling dirt/stains out of the brick and I learned that I wasted time doing this. At one time I had to stop for about an hour during application and found out this was not a problem. The newly applied would adhere to the hour old application and it peeled in one piece. The area I am cleaning is indoors, off white brick and measures 10' x 14' and I bought 3 buckets. Would have been enough to clean it all in one swipe if I had agitated the cleaner over the whole surface instead of lapsing into a 'painting' mentality. Places that came clean look new!!!! I would and will buy again!!!

I watched a lot of videos and thought that I did a lot of research about this product before buying it and felt that it was going to work for me. However, after using it I would not recommend buying it.Aside from this being way overpriced, it did not work as described and required much more material than the packaging indicated leading to a much smaller coverage area. I applied two entire gallons to my brick fireplace that had very minor smoke marks but my main concern was removing some small areas eflourescence that had built up. I ordered two gallons and applied the product exactly how the product instructions described to include agitating the entire thing with a brush. I let it dry for approximately 18 hours and then removed it. It was still very difficult to remove even with the heavy coat that I applied. Then, much to my surprise, nothing came off. Not the smoke stains or the eflourescence which I was mainly focused on and I thought would come off easily. Needless to say I am not happy with the results and would not suggest buying it.

It cleans the brick but it will work the skin off of your fingers trying to get it off of the bricks. Need to apply at least 4 coats the thicker the better!!

It really works! See the photo! The bottom half has not been done yet. Look at the difference. It is amazing. Putting it on thick enough ensures that it is easy to pull off. We love it!
