Nexpeak NC201 Battery Charger Review – Reliable, User-Friendly, and Budget-Friendly
I recently tested the Nexpeak NC201 Battery Charger, and its simplicity instantly impressed me. The operation is as easy as connecting it to the battery, selecting the required setting, and letting it work its magic. I used the repair mode on a battery that hadn’t been active for over a year. Although the repair process took about 6 hours, the outcome was remarkable—the battery was revived and is now performing well. While some users have noted that the cable might seem a bit short, this wasn’t a major issue for me. I simply placed the charger near the battery and used an extension lead to comfortably manage the setup. Another point worth mentioning is that the LED light indicator’s brightness isn’t intensely bright; however, this hasn’t affected its functionality—its subtle glow is sufficient for monitoring the charging process. Moreover, I secured the charger at a discounted price, which makes it an even more affordable option. Overall, the Nexpeak NC201 offers an excellent combination of ease-of-use, dependable performance, and cost-effective value, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to repair or maintain their batteries.

Charges from Dead, But Trickle Charge & Cable Length Issues
Bought this for my project car and it does a great job charging from dead, which my old branded charger wouldn’t even attempt. It’s good value and works well overall, but there are a couple of downsides—once the battery is full it stops trickle charging, so when the battery drained again I had to disconnect and reconnect it before it would start charging, which meant I couldn’t take the car out that day. Also, the charging cables are quite short, so I was limited on where I could safely connect the ground cable in the engine bay. Still, for the price, it’s a solid bit of kit.

It's a charger
These days it's difficult to find a bad charger, most are now small lightweight intelligent charging units. What is more difficult is getting a decent middle of the road device.First thing to say is that this style of charging unit is pretty universal now, it uses a multistage charge so tends to deep charge the cells and does its best to tweak the battery condition as much as it can. It will pulse to knock back surface sulfidastion on the cells surfaces then apply a varied charge regime to give the battery a good charge. The circuit board will even probably be common to a wide range of units, across a wide price range.A top end charger will have:#High spec wires, flexi silicon sleeved, and high quality clamps. Usually it will allow for the leads to be easily extendable with inline connecters. This doesn't but its much cheaper than one that does.#The mains lead will be again flexi sheathed to allow its use in all temperatures. Again this one doesn't but its much cheaper than those that does.#You'll get a robust shatter proof mains plug. This one has a standard breakable plastic plug.#The casing will be robust and made of a shatter proof material. This isn't quite that good but seems tough enough.#You'll get auto battery type sensing. This one requires manual selection, it might auto sense but not tried it on an AGM yet to see.#You'll get a lovely back lit display in a high end/price unit. This one isn't back lit (or mine is broken) so can be difficult to read.#You'll get to pay for a nice feeling and looking product. This one is OK, not going to win prizes but then we want functional not pretty and expensive. But you really won't get much else that aids charging if you spend a significant sum more.Overall then this is a good solid middle of the road intelligent float charger with a good output that will let you charge heavier duty 12 and 24V batteries. You hook it up and let it know what the battery type is so that it optimises the charge pattern to use. It will drop into a trickle maintenance charge once the main charge is completed so it's safe to leave.Short version: Its a good charger built to it's price point. You won't get excited about it but it will get the job done quickly and efficiently.

Brilliant Charger with Battery Repair Mode
Absolutely brilliant bit of Kit for the money. I have two Mk7 transit minibus, they had sat for 6 months and all 4 batteries were totally flat. 3 of the batteries were showing as faulty on the battery test machine and showing 3 volts or less. This little machine, on recovery mode managed to repair and fully charge the 3 batteries, both vans start first turn of the key now and hold 12.8v when left for a few days. £20 for this device that's saved me £200 on its first use. Absolutely brilliant. It has an internal fan (it's quite noisy) so it doesn't overheat and can be left in use for days without an issue. If I was to be picky I'd say the led light to show which mode it's in is a tiny bit dim in daylight.

Worked perfectly
Used once yesterday fully recharged battery easy to use and instructions even easier. Well worth the value, does have a short cord but I brought the car battery inside anyway to charge. A well worth piece of kit to have around for them unexpected moments and doesn’t break the bank.

Nice Charger
Great little unit, reason for not 5 stars is that Power and battery leads a bit too short
