I no longer get around so well and trips into the barber shop have become a challenge so I thought I would give this a try. This comb is so simple and does a fantastic job, in fact I think a better job than a $25 cut. So now I'll cut my own hair as often as I like and I've eliminated the stress of struggling to walk into the barber shop. I'll be ordering a spare or two to have on hand the next time I do an Amazon order. A really happy purchase.

I really want to give this a 5-star, but the installed blades that came with the comb weren't as sharp as I was hoping. Haven't tried any of the replacement blades yet. I originally bought this comb to use on one my long-haired Ragdoll cats who gets a few fur mats (I call them "lumpies") and can't comb them out and usually use scissors to cut them (when he'll let me), but that leaves a spot in his fur that is shorter than the rest. While looking at several other brands of this type of "cutting comb", one video showed a man who used it to shape his hair to 1/4" all over his head, so I tried it on my husband first who has short hair. Most of the time the comb worked, but because the blades weren't as sharp as expected, there were a couple of "ouchies" from him. Sterilized the comb and used it on my cat today. He's not liking it too much and it didn't do anything to comb out or cut-off the matted fur lumps. His claws are sharp, and when I pulled a little, I was dodging his claws. I've got several other fur combing/brushing (gloves, brushes, metal combs, etc) items that I use, and so far none are what he'll put up with. I try to be as gentle as possible, but some of his fur is 3" long and grooming himself (or me doing it) isn't as easy chore. His sister has shorter fur and doesn't get the "lumpies", so she's easier to groom. I think this is better used for a pet with shorter fur, or one who is very mellow and doesn't mind a little tugging to get the mats smoothed.

This comb is exactly what we needed!!

Good for thinning thin sections of hair but did not work well for my husbands thick hair. Handle is a good size to hold and it does offer two sizes of thinning options

I love this razor comb. I use it when my poodle gets a hair knot. I can just comb it off.
