Good looking, solid, functional and stable
I wasted money on trying out other forms of knife storage trying to avoid using the much smaller ugly knife blocks I already owned which were prone to falling over at a touch. This unit is large and heavy. If you have room for a block this size by all means buy. It is reliable and stable in use and has accommodated with ease all the knives I have placed in it, including a 10” chef’s knife will full bolster. I just have to try inserting the Chinese Chef’s knife (when I remember which drawer it is in). A good block like this should put an end to the hunting.Edit: The Chinese Chef's knife fits.
