Perfect fit for putting an old safe back in service. I believe the newer models are the same but check your current pressure rating and length first. Very easy install less than 5min (including taking a picture), unclip the retainer on the lid side then be careful pulling the strut aside from the ball as it may still have pressure in it. Unscrew from the bottom fitting gripping the rod not the larger tube. Transfer or replace the spring, screw the rod to original bottom fitting, compress the strut to line up with the lid ball, give it a slap and done. Bonus: you also have a spare for other safes or friend.UPDATE: Worked great after install. After about a week I opened the safe to change the battery, no problem. When I closed the lid, I could hear the faint hiss of pressure escaping. Opened again a few times and each time it was closed the leak returned until the lid wouldn't lift any more. The strut was already dead with less pressure then the original decade plus one. Put the spare in and waiting see what kind of performance I get this time.

If you are looking at reviews of gas cylinders, this is the right one. This is perfect for small boxes or drawers, as it is light enough to not break plastic components but strong enough to get the job done. Used this to make a 3d printed box that opens up on its own.

The documentation is pitiful (you’d think the Chinese could hire a translator). Dimensions are wrong (at least for the 8 inch). I coulda used more instruction on how-to-install.

I had a velvet trunk that was perfect for a toy box but the lid is heavy and slammed shut with the slightest bump of the lid. This fix that issue. Only used one since the smallest pressure I could find was this one, but it’s get very soft close and open. It’s perfect.

Super frustrated that the measurements are wrong. You're supposed to measure from the center point of each hole but these are clearly measured as just the full length. Which means center point to center point they're barely 7.5". These were supposed to be just long enough if measured correctly. So they're going back in the mail.
