What are the bristles made of?

I'm not sure, but I was surprised at the ease by which the bristles fell out of the brush and all over my convertible top.

Is this safe to use on tonneau covers?

Yes, it is safe to use. The bristles are soft like a shoe brush. It was a pleasure to use on my truck bed cover. Use the 303 cleaner and 303 protectant.
