Works perfectly if you use it properly.
All components necessary are included, including instructions. Three of the parts are snapped into clips on the bottom of the jig (the 1/16" drill bit, the edge stop pin, and the marking gauge). The 35 mm forstner bit is of good quality and sharp. It cut the holes in my doors nicely. One thing that is not mentioned in the instructions is that it is probably a good idea to put a light film of grease on the shaft of the forstner drill bit. I suggest grease because you don't want oil running down the shaft and staining your wood. When installing the drill guide for the forstner bit into the base, line the tabs on the side of the guide up with the slots in the base of the jig, and them be sure it is pressed all the way down before trying to rotate it clockwise to lock it into position. I struggled with that for a bit before I realized I didn't have it pushed down quite all the way. When drilling, try to insure that you are applying pressure straight down rather than leaning one way or another. If you're leaning, you will be applying pressure to the drill guide. The bearing surface of the drill guide is steel but it's not very thick. If you are applying side pressure, it might heat up and begin to soften the surrounding plastic which will then deform. The above mentioned lubricant will help prevent this. The jig provides 4 sets of 1/16" guide holes for for pre-drilling the mounting screw holes for the hinge. You may have to mark them by pushing the provided drill bit through each hole to mark the wood surface and then remove the jig and, using a hinge, determine which pair of holes you need to drill for your particular hinge. The jig can then be replaced accurately so you can drill the holes. The instructions show using a clamp to secure the jig to the door during drilling. I strongly suggest that you do that so you can concentrate on keeping your drill straight and not have to worry about holding the jig in position. For my hinges (Blum) the mounting holes were not quite exactly correct. But they were only of by .010" or .020" and they worked just fine anyway. Bottom line is I am very happy with this jig.

Get what you pay for.
Good for the $ - not the sturdiest fixture but it is plastic. Screw holes produce acceptable results - they are not exactly centered but screws go in and center themselves.I only needed to do 4 doors - if I was doing many more I would likely look for a better fixture.Delfinitely gets the job done and would recommend for limited amount of work.

works as well as the more expensive ones
as with all milescraft products the instructions leave a bit to be desired, they're multilingual and it gets confusing on where to go next, with that said watch a you-tube video and it's a lot clearer.now for the actual review this thing is awesome once you get to use it, practice first on scrap!.once you get the hang of it it's terrific, the best part is it's self contained, everything stays on the tool for storage, it has the Allen wrench you need for the collar, it even has a drill bit for the screws all stored on the tool, that's a huge plus, as for set up it's really easy if you use common hinges the settings are there already need a non standard dimension no problem, a pair of clamps (sold separately but i bet you already have something that'll work) and clamp it to the piece! easy peasy!how long will it last/ no idea but i don't buy milescraft for extreme daily use I'm a hobbyist so it'll last me some time, a pro may keep it on hand for an emergency or to teach an intern

Got the job done well
I held off writing a review until I had completed my project (kitchen and bathroom cabinet refacing) to see if the product would hold up for the entire job - and it did indeed, much to my delight. I successfully bored a total of 26 cabinet doors, i.e. 52 actual hinge holes. All of my hinges fit accurately. The included Forstner bit was of high quality and stayed sharp for the entire project. I like the fact that this particular jig has a metal shaft to hold the drill bit in place without wear or play becoming a factor - that's what swayed me to buy this over the competing brands. I recommend using a pair of face clamps to hold the jig in place on the workpiece, and using an electric drill rather than a battery drill.

Not great and customer service is non existent.
I ordered it because I built cabinet doors and had no clue how to do the hinges. This seemed like it would take the guesswork out. Sadly, it didn’t. The preset measurements for the depth stopper were both shallower than my hinge cup required (13.5). So I had to continually bore and then take it all apart so I could see if I had gone deep enough. The bit was not reliable. It kept freezing up and also shifting and the blade is too dull to make a consistent cut. So my holes are’t bored straight. I did reach out to the company (after I did my test board) to inquire if they had recommendations on how to fix my issues but I never got a response. The only part of this item that was helpful was the jig that you use to figure out your cabinet box brackets. I wish I could return this to be honest, but because I used it, I feel like I need to keep it.

good must have tool
This jig does just exactly what it's designed to do. I couldn't have installed my new cabinet doors without it.
