Well presented and up-to-date
My last chemistry class was back in 1973. My how chemistry has changed! This series of books "Big Ideas, Made Simple" is well designed, has thoughtful illustrations, is colorful, and I think expertly written. This book, in particular, was a great refresher for me and then it continued where I left off, with exciting topics, to the current time. One feature I like is the brief biographies of the men and women featured in each topic. For me, it adds another dimension to the topic. These were real people and they persevered. We owe them a lot as our lives today benefited from their efforts. Try to think of our lives without plastics. Impossible.

DK Book Fan
I have many DK books. Not too far into this one but enjoying it so far. It delves into the history of the science which I like. Sometimes the kindle version of the DK books can be a bit glitchy because of graphics, etc.. This one seems to work fine.
