It's complicated
The instructions are bad, basically what I would do, is remove the back, screw in the grill that comes with your AC into the little plastic clips that are already in it, then put in the AC. After that, put it through the wall to the point where the AC insulated plastic frame touches the wall and mark how far deep it is in the wall. After that, don't use those L brackets, because too much of the sleeve is still inside and you will have a gap between the wall unit and the frame that the wall unit came with. Just drive in 3 nice heavy duty wood screws through the sleeve holes where the brackets would bolt to. That way it will sit flush against the wall with the plastic frame around the unit. Then just jam in insulation wherever you can, then use locktite around the wall and the sleeve. After that, slide the unit back into the sleeve, and pop on the frame around it, and it will be up against the wall and look nice. Get some wood framing for the outside wall and make it look nice there too. After that, just replace whatever dual outlet plug with a single outlet plug and plug it in and fire it up. Again, if you use the L brackets that come with the sleeve, the photos here are the end result, this is the L brackets on the very last hole, so an inch of the sleeve is inside, and you will need some kind of inch thick custom wood framing for the inside, or it will look like the first picture. The sleeve should only be 1\4 inch inside. If it is only inside that much, the frame and unit will look like the other photos. Note that I replaced the flimsy grille with the EA109T upgraded grille. The wall sleeve and new AC now sits perfectly inside without a gap.

Over-priced, dented metal box
Ours arrived dinged up in one corner, and many other reviewers have had the same issue. It was not packaged well at all. Just shipped in it's manufacturer box without good protection at all. It wasn't bad enough to bother trying to exchange it for another one (let's be real: another one probably would've been dented too), and when you need your air conditioner installed, you NEED it done NOW. All I can say is that, for this ridiculously overpriced item, I'd expect it to arrive undamaged. Get it together, Amazon seller. Now onto the price. Geez oh Pete's, is this over priced. It's a thin, cheaply made metal box and not much else. There's no way this costs more than $30 to manufacture and the price they charge is highway robbery, but they kinda have you by the throat... if you need one, you don't really have any other options.Would I recommend this? No, not really. Does it do it's job? Yes. Just try to avoid needing one if at all possible. ;)

Good quality, conflicting instructions.
Good quality and nice looking. I purchased an air conditioner that specifies using this sleeve, but there were so many conflicting between the instructions that came with the sleeve, a single sheet addendum included with the sleeve, and the instructions that came with the air conditioner. I finally put the sleeve on a workbench and slid the air conditioner in to make sure I understood how the grill needed to be attached, where the foam filler was supposed to be, and how to trim out the sleeve in a drywall wall.

Hard to put together
Box looks simple to put together until you open the box of parts and follow instruction book. Pictures available are fine but they need more actual pictures showing exactly how installation is done. The screen that came in the box didn't exactly fit on the sleeve. Screw holes didn't match up. I had to drill new holes. All I know is the instructions are very confusing.

Yet another badly dented unit as it arrived at my doorstep
I've read several other reviews complaining that their sleeve arrived badly dented. Count me in that bunch now too. There were big dents on both ends, with one of them so bad that the rear flange is badly wrinkled. The shipping box looked absolutely perfect ... no sign of abuse at all. Clearly the packaging method for this item is inadequate.I tried carefully banging out the dents myself, but it still looks awful. I went ahead and installed it anyway 'coz I really needed to get my Florida Room air conditioned in time for the coming weekend, as I have a guest arriving with FOUR DOGS, and I want to have them stay out there rather than in the house.Apart from the dents, it works fine, and my A/C is now installed and working.

Looks nice, mediocre design doesn't match AC.
I bought this because my new Frigidaire air conditioner/heater (Frigidaire 12,000 BTU 230V Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner w/ 10,600 BTU Supplemental Heat Capability, FFTH1222Q2) inexplicably didn't come with a through-the-wall sleeve. This was the recommended one. First you have to take off the back. Two of the screws holding it on had come out on their own, and the other two were very difficult to remove. The first instruction for installing the AC involved screwing a ground wire into the sleeve. They gave explicit placement instructions. It said basically "use a hole if there's one there, and if not, drill one" (applicable to multiple brands of sleeves). Well, there was no hole. Why on earth would you make a sleeve for a particular air conditioner, when you know you have to have a hole to attach a ground wire to, and not provide a hole?? Mind-boggling. It took me like 20 minutes to drill a hole because I had inadequate equipment. Finally, I thought the unit would be just about flush with the sleeve. Nope, it sticks out about four inches. So after I installed the sleeve in the wall, with some difficulty, I had to undo everything and stick it farther in (my bad for not doing a dry run, I guess, but still!). Other than that, the sleeve looks good. I was just shocked at how it didn't seem to correspond with the actual unit that it was supposed to match. Oh, and the price. Ridiculous that this costs this much. It should cost $25, tops.
