50' Metal Garden Hose by QSP, Stainless Steel with Brass Sprayer

I've been using this hose for about a month now and so far it is the best hose I have ever owned. In my 50 years as a gardener I have owned maybe 50 different hoses - all of which I hated. So far this metal hose has not kinked. Not even once. It is lightweight enough to carry around easily. I can use a high pressure nozzle with this hose. I also like that it has a large coupling end which makes attaching it to the faucet effortless. Best of all it is very easy to wind up on a hose holder with no twists. I will return to review this product again in a year as that is just about how long most "kink-free" hoses last before kinking. If it makes it past the one year anniversary with no kinks then I intend to order a second one. Please note - the brass nozzle that came with the hose had a pin hole in it and I got soaked when I turned on the hose the very first time. But I prefer using my fireman's nozzle anyway.

The I.D. Is nowhere near the 5/8" claimed, it is more like 1/4".The hose is light, it doesn't kink. It is easy to coil. The fittings appear to be good quality. The nozzle works pretty well. The strain reliefs are good.I suspect it is supplied with the nozzle because water flow may be insufficient for a traditional nozzle.It is difficult to use for watering plants or filling a bucket because the water comes out in a very fast very narrow stream, like a traditional nozzle set for shooting a stream water at maximal distance. This hose is best for applications where smaller amounts of water are needed. If you want to deliver large amounts of water, you'll want a larger diameter hose. This will be OK for washing things or for use with a pressure washer (spigot to the pressure washer, not high pressure from the washer) because water consumption isn't that much. If you are a home owner, this should probably not be your only hose.It is attractive, unusual, and more looks as if it belongs in a shower.It is much lighter than a traditional 50 ft hose and it will coil easily and can be stored in less space.I cannot speak to long term reliability.We just washed 2 cars using this hose. My wife loves the hose. The lightness is the main thing she likes, then she likes the look.It takes longer to fill a bucket and it makes a lot of foam if the soap is added first but it is OK if the bucket is filled then the soap added. Even the fine spray is fairly forceful. There were no twists or kinks.Overall, it's a nice hose.

After rural living all of our lives, we moved to in town 7 months ago. During the last 2 years of living in the country i went through about 5 of those expandable hoses. For some reason i assumed once we moved they would magically just last. Lol. We purchased 2 of the "heavy duty" sort..umm..within 3 weeks the 50' just sprung a leak almost in the dead center. Also, I could never easily switch out the sprayer/nozzel. Always had to use one or two pairs of pliers. I really did not want to go back to the old school heavy duty rubber hose. I thought that was my only option until I came across this metal hose. I figured what could it hurt, I've seriously already spent a pretty penny on junk hoses. On the day this was delivered, I had several other orders delivered as well. For the life of me I couldn't guess what was in one particular box. I was surprised to see it was this metal hose, THAT'S how light it is!! The fittings are awesome. I can change out the sprayer lickety-split. Without the use of pliers :) Most of my flower beds are on the perimeter of the black top driveway and parking pad. This hose literally glides over it. I have no problem at all turning on the water and carrying the entire hose on one arm to any where I need it. It does not kink and is quite pliable for weaving around plants. It can get quite hot if in the sun, but so can the tradional rubber hoses. I seriously have nothing negative to say about this product. For me, it is perfect!!December..Just ordered a 2nd hose. :)

I do a lot of gardening & my water supply is surrounded by a concrete patio. The old hoses are to heavy for me. The cloth super hoses do not hold up under the Florida sun & being dragged on the concrete patio. So i thought I try this. Much Much better than those other hoses. The brutal FL sun will not destroy the metal hose. And it won't fray on the concrete patio. Very light & never self tangles. Always easy to work with. I am very pleased with the hose.Addl info: some ppl say they do not get the same water output as in a regular rubber hose. All i can say is for me water output is very good. I use well water for outdoor usage. If the hose isn't putting out a lot of water - the pump goes off. When I use the JET, SOAKER, CENTER, etc options on nozzle, my pump stay on. If i use MIST, the pump goes on and off. I am getting normal water output as in regular hose.PICS - Hose and nozzle.
