To clean my climbing rope

I think it worked pretty good. I have a 60M rope that had been used several times in and around a gravel road like surface (lots of sand and grit). It changed the color of the rope to a dark grey. Washed the rope in my tub with woollite as used this tool a few times back n forth on the rope. My rope looks new again. I cannot visual see the dirt, dust and grime on the rope anymore. It does take a little effort to pass the rope through the device. I think it works better pulling the rope through, towards you, holding the device nearest you. Don’t grab the front of the device and try to pull it across the rope, as the devices spring-like construction, will cause it to expand and straighten out and not really work. Hope that makes sense.

Gets deformed and doesn’t work

This did a great job (coupled with rope wash and warm water) of scrubbing the surface of my rope nice and clean but because of its shape and flexibility it could easily stretch and bind on the rope. All I needed to do was crunch it back up and continue pulling, but it just meant it was more difficult to get a steady rhythm.

This is a great rope brush, and much better than I was expecting at this price point. I cleaned two clean appearing ropes, 11 mm and a 12.7 mm, with 2 dry brushes and then 2 brushes in a clean water bath. The water was completely brown-opaque after the first brushing. I highly recommend for people who like me do not want to risk soap, even those claiming to be rope safe. No need with this brush.

Product tore rope surface, exposing core. When attempting cleaning of 1/2 rope, rope became twisted and locked in product. Idea is great, but I don’t want to damage my lines.

As the title says, I got this not to use on climbing rope or clotheslines, but my magnet fishing rope.It definitely is in need of a cleaning after repeated dunking in various polluted bodies of water, and as soon as i.saw this brush I knew I needed it! Its now a permanent piece of my equipment along with a towel and WD-40!The only complaint is the "manual" included with it, which is basically just a pamphlet of ads for other products made by the same company. I won't take any stars away however since it's use is pretty self-explanatory, and there are steps on the listing if you needed them.The construction of.the brush is great; the bristles aren't too soft, and the metal is flexible to allow the rope to be threaded easily. For the cost, it's a no-brainer to use for upkeep of any rope that'll fit!
