Larger than it looks!
I must say this thing is huge! Some asked can you cook a whole turkey in this thing and I'd say with the extension ring, Yes!After researching many brands and finding out all the pros and cons I decide to buy this one. I did not want a small one and also didn't like the idea of the teflon coating coming off on my food which many people complained about from other brands. It's a 16 quart glass bowl with racks and an extension ring included.I recommend you put it in a nice open area as it does tend to throw off a lot of heat. The heat comes out around the top of the bowl as well as the two bottom side vents on either side. The best place I had to put it where I didn't feel I had to worry to much was right on top of my stove. I have low overhanging cabinets. I set it on top of a glass cutting board first to make sure it was level and stable.Since I was worried about the heat I used my oven thermometer to check the surrounding temperature. You can see how hot it was getting behind the unit. This thermometer and the back part of the stove is about 7 inches away from the edge of the bowl.I was also worried about the cord touching the top of the bowl because it gets so hot. As you can see the cord is wrapped there with some sort of heat resisted fabric I believe to protect the cord. I remedied this by using one of my pot holder magnets to keep the cord off the top of the unit.I cooked the chicken legs at 375° for 30 mins. They weren't quite done underneath so I flipped them and cooked them for 15 minutes more. They came out juicy and delicious. They were nice and crusty on the outside with no coating and no oil. I just used a bit of seasoning.I'd also recommend leaving the ring nearby to set the lid on when you're checking the food, flipping it or getting it out of the bowl. The lid is quite hot and probably not best to put it directly down on the counter top.Clean up was easy for the most part. I put the bowl in the sink once it cooled and placed hot soapy water inside then placed the rack and basket in the water to soak. The rack came clean easily. The basket was a little harder because of the weave. All in all a great product but be warned it is large! My only gripe is that there are no directions for use included in the box. I had to use a YouTube video to figure out the basics like turning it on and what racks to use and how.I recommend this product highly. I hope this review is helpful.

follow the directions and be happy
this is a very nice product and it works just as it says it does. the wash part of the product in my opinion is great. it will probably handle a quantity of something for four people. I am single so it is fine for me. I have made French fries, baked potatoes, roasted potatoes, chicken legs, thighs and breast in an egg and bread crumb coating, two crusted apple pie and a cake. you do have to do some experimenting when you first start. I have had mine for 6 weeks now. this is what I basically use. pop corn does work but not that well, it leaves to many unfinished kernels. it fits very well on my counter top. but if you have a small counter there maybe a problem. you do have to be careful when handling the glass bottom when cleaning but when you use the wash system it is very easy to rinse out. I also find that the underneath is easier to keep clean using the wash system. use a damp cloth or paper towel and wipe off real good every time and it stay relatively clean. the clean up is not hard at all. be very careful when using frozen foods if one of the items like chicken happens to fall to the bottom when turning over it will cause the glass to crack. also make sure when you go to use the washing system that your glass has cooled off or when you fill it with about 2 inches of water you do it with hot water so the glass does not crack. if you operate this product right you should have no problems.the only con I have with this product is there are not any kind of parts available. you can pickup a ring, a halogen light bulb and racks ect. on ebay. other then the light bulb the others don't wear out unless you want extras. the thing I don't understand is how a company is allowed to put a product on the market without part backup??? the different excuses about the thing being heavy is semi true but you only basically handle one piece at a time, bowl or top and it is really no big deal. just use the product as designed no more no less and you will be happy.I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE AN UPDATE: FOR WHAT EVER REASON MY BOWL CRACKED. Nice!
I've only used it a few times since purchasing it, but so far it works great. It's already a large capacity bowl but when you add the extension ring this thing is HUGE! You could easily cook a turkey in it. With just 2 knobs (temp and timer) it's incredibly easy to use right out of the box.

Very good -- except for the racks
EDIT January 5, 2024. It broke already, less than 6 months of use. I noticed when I lifted the top to turn over my steaks. Normally, lifting the head unit using the handle causes the handle to raise and the unit to shut off. Raising the handle no longer causes the unit to shut off!!!!!I cook steaks in this. After a bit of a learning curve as to time/temp it does a pretty good job of producing medium rare. I find it works best when cooking from frozen. A note on the glass bowl, it's very easy to chip the edges, especially when washing in a large, enamel sink. Maybe a stainless sink would be a little easier on it, a little less apt to chip the glass if you manage to tap it, but anyway what I do now is leave it in the plastic holder, place it in the sink, carefully wash and rinse, etc. That all being said, one night I left the high cooking rack soaking in a couple of inches of soapy water. (The rack was upside down of course.) The next morning it was rusty. A week or so later I left it again, and next morning it was very rusty. The metal is some kind of cheap white metal, and who knows if it's toxic. It leaves greenish color on paper towels used to wipe off excess grease, and on the sponge. The photo shows partially washed rack. Just wanted to let people know the rack is made of some kind of cheap metal, and I am now looking for an actual stainless steel replacement.
