Great Stakes
These are great!

A must have
We are not serious campers - car camp in a State Park 1 or 2 weekends a year. Recently purchased these stakes and a tent from Amazon. The first time we used these, the park required us to pitch our tents on tent 'pads' - essentially hard packed gravel that is used for either parking your vehicle or pitching your tent. These stakes went into the hard packed ground like a hot knife through butter. Four other families in our party had either standard issue plastic stakes or the typical coat hangar thin steel stakes. They worked up a sweat trying to get their stakes to make any headway through the hardpack. A couple of them ended up bending and/or breaking stakes and ultimately left a couple corners unsecured. I was VERY happy with my small investment in these sweet stakes. If you are a serious camper and could be out in all kinds of ground terrain and high winds - I gotta believe you are going to want these. If you are a car camper and would rather get your tent set up and have a cold one while your buddies are cussing out their cheap stakes - you wanna have these too!

be the envy of the (camping) party
These things rock. Or go through rock. Or are rock solid as the case may be. They take a little adjustment to get your tent lines secure in the smaller notches (compared to your stock hook pegs) and they take a lot of work to get out. But never having to deal with another bent peg while trying to go though rocky or soil... priceless. Buy these and never look back. But prepared to buy them for everyone else at the campsite next christmas...

great stakes
I was able to pound these into ground that contained lots small stones and they held up perfect. If you hit a stone with these stakes (if the stone is small enough), they just work there way around them. The cheap stakes that came with our eureka tent didn't do so well. I would recommend these stakes.

Great little tent spike
Great little spike, but I thought I was purchasing a bundle of them, but I ended up only getting one.Luckily, I was able to get more. They held up well in loamy soil, as well as a more hardpacked soil.I really like the fact that the cord looped at the top is reflective.Worth it for the quality, but pay attention to the amount you are getting.

Great replacement for cheap stakes.
My new tent came with a set of the standard silver "hook" type stakes. Every time I have used them in the past, at least half bend on the first outing. This time I figured I would upgrade and save some weight. I am glad that I did. The Groundhogs worked great and were easy to see even while staked into the leaf covered forest floor. The reflective cord is a nice touch if you have to tear down before sunrise. I have not had a chance to try them in hard ground yet, but I am sure they will fare better than the silver hooks. The only minor drawback is they take a little bit of extra effort to clean off when the mud sticks in between the flats.

Tougher than rocks!
I was camping on Lake Travis on Labor Day weekend and when it came time to set up I kept hitting buried rocks. I decided that for $2.50 apiece I would find out just how tough these babies are so I got a hammer out of the truck and pounded 'em in! Needless to say, the rocks broke and the stakes did not! I highly reccomend these.

Bombproof MSR Ground stakes!
These stakes are highly rated to be the best out on the market! If you live in rocky areas, make sure you have these in your tent arsenal. These work great in rocky terrains and you can typically just find a rock in the area, and hammer them in. I will note that the top notched area is known to break but it's a small price to pay for having nice stakes in general. They are $2.00 a piece and if you can get a few trips out of them they pay for themselves. One more thing to note, once you have them in the ground often times it's very difficult to remove the stakes, good thing MSR puts the little ropes on the end so you can just pull them out vs digging them out.10/10 rating!

Tested on beach sand
I love this product, I have tested only on beach sand and it worked very well. I hope it works as good at the camping ground or at the random jungle.
