Good performer
Looks nice. Good form factor. USB type-A sockets on both ends instead of the pesky USB-mini on the enclosure's end (I broke my previous enclosure USB-mini socket by wear and tear, unplugging it and plugging it every day).Regarding speed, I don't know why but most manufacturers seem to only publish the Sequential speeds. Based on previous experience, you can still have a high sequential speed and be left with a mediocre performer.Here are the real speeds with a Samsung 840 pro, with this enclosure, with UASP off:-----------------------------------------------------------------------CrystalDiskMark 3.0.2 x64 (C) 2007-2013 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/-----------------------------------------------------------------------* MB/s = 1,000,000 byte/s [SATA/300 = 300,000,000 byte/s] Sequential Read : 335.867 MB/s Sequential Write : 258.016 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 315.899 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 254.475 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 18.510 MB/s [ 4519.0 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 26.576 MB/s [ 6488.3 IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 20.110 MB/s [ 4909.6 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 27.609 MB/s [ 6740.6 IOPS] Test : 500 MB [V: 93.1% (216.8/232.9 GB)] (x2) Date : 2014/03/03 18:31:47 OS : Windows 8 Professional [6.2 Build 9200] (x64)It is perfectly normal to have 4K read and writes much lower than the 512K and sequential.And taking into consideration my previous experience with other USB enclosures, I must say it's a brilliant performer.Here is the same benchmark with UASP. My motherboard has UASP enabled with the Asus AI Suite.-----------------------------------------------------------------------CrystalDiskMark 3.0.2 x64 (C) 2007-2013 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/-----------------------------------------------------------------------* MB/s = 1,000,000 byte/s [SATA/300 = 300,000,000 byte/s] Sequential Read : 310.919 MB/s Sequential Write : 258.482 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 275.528 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 255.496 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 18.871 MB/s [ 4607.2 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 33.057 MB/s [ 8070.6 IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 139.213 MB/s [ 33987.7 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 161.089 MB/s [ 39328.3 IOPS] Test : 500 MB [V: 93.1% (216.8/232.9 GB)] (x2) Date : 2014/03/03 19:05:16 OS : Windows 8 Professional [6.2 Build 9200] (x64)Seems like a really nice enclosure! The speeds don't match the manufacturer's promised speeds (by a little bit), but I suspect it's the SSD not the enclosure, so I'm still leaving a 5 star rating. Here's why I think it's the SSD:1. I have very little free space on the SSD. This makes a difference in performance2. I've been using it for a long time, performance degrades with time.3. The manufacturer might have been using compressible data as a benchmark, believe it or not this makes a difference. The benchmark I used uses completely random data.I've only had the enclosure for an hour or so though, so I'll update my review later if I find time.

Economical, fast, light and reliable. What do you want more?
In just four words we can summarize the evaluation of this box for HD with USB 3.0 interface. In the package you will find the box (of course), the USB 3.0 cable, a tiny manual of instructions and an adhesive pad to make the HD stick to be mounted, without fear that it will crash into the walls of the case during transport. The box is very light, entirely in plastic and WITHOUT SCREWS, this feature is very important and practical, because it will allow you to open the box only using small pressure on the top cover that will slide showing the internal housing for the hard disk.Hard disk that will be positioned, also without the need for screws, in a very simple way and the two bearings will protect it from shocks.Once connected, it is very convenient to switch it on using the switch on the back and the blue status LED will indicate that the HD is working.I made a backup of the entire PC without ever having problems disconnecting. The plastic body of the box is very resistant, it is not glossy so it shows no signs of fingerprints and / or fingerprints. One of the cheapest and most efficient HD boxes I have ever had, although I would have preferred to pay a few euros more but also have, among the features, a small carrying case. Now I greet you and wish you a good day and good shopping.

Works well
The product looks well built, case made of good and nice solid plastic, and the circuit well enclosed in it at one end, with the SATA connector surrounded by the case to prevent bending to the sides. The USB cable is robust and longer than average, with the more solid USB 3.0 A plug compared to the more common Mini USB 3.0.Initially I had some troubles in fitting the disk in this case, as the manual was not too clear by just showing some arrows to push the disk down first and forward after, but you actually need to put it to a slight angle to manage to plug it. Once figured this out, it was alright. The manufacturer was helpful in responding to this issue. The case is initially a bit stiff to open, but then it gets workable.I'm not too convinced though by the design of this case in the way the disk fits in it, it seems a bit too tightly designed around the disk size without allowing much margin, and at the same time it can still allow a bit of wobbling as it doesn't tightly fasten the disk apart from the sponge that pushes it down from the top of the case. I would find it more stable if it was secured with screws or some other clipping mechanism. For this reason I would use it only occasionally for an HDD which is heavier and more sensitive to movements, but perhaps that's not much of an issue for SSDs which I would use for longer-term use. Also with an HDD the heat dissipation might not be great for long usage (perhaps a metallic container would be better for that), due to the plastic and the sponge/air underneath it - but for a short use you could keep the case open at the top to allow more air to circulate.Overall good case, good deal for the money.I only tried the case with some old HDD so far and performance is as high as I could expect it with that (40 MB/s sustained read/write using CrystalDiskMark), I will be trying it later with some fast SSD and see the performance limit with that.
