Premier Housewares 16-Piece Swiss Cutlery Set - Black

I ordered this set as a replacement for one of the same general pattern, also bought through Amazon, but a different, slightly more expensive brand that are still on sale as 'La Guiole style' cutlery. My old set have been a disappointment- although I like the French style, sharp, serrated blades and comfortable handles- because after a year or two of use the handles have begun to break away, revealing that the blades and fork and spoon metal parts stop short at the join of the handle and are only held onto the handle with one flimsy collar in the shape of a bee. The other rivets down the length of the handle are purely cosmetic.This Premier Housewares set is cheaper, and very much better made, because the blades and metal tangs on the forks and spoons continue the full length of the handle and are securely riveted all the way down so they should never break apart in use. The spoon bowls and fork tines are better finished and the knife blades are good and sharp. I recommend these for everyday use as the red handles look a bit plasticky rather than being polished, but they are still excellent value.I notice a recent reviewer challenged people who had left 4 and 5 star reviews to say what they thought of this cutlery set six months down the line. Well I've had mine a year now and it's been in the dishwasher every day. Although I can now see and feel one or two of the rivets on the handles standing proud of the plastic, nothing has dropped off it yet unlike my previous set of 'Laguiole' style cutlery (pearl handles)off Amazon which cost more and has now fallen to bits. When leaving a review, I always consider what I paid for an item, and this set was CHEAP. It was bought as kitchen cutlery, it looks cheap and plasticky, but FOR THE PRICE it has been a good buy- if you want the Laguiole style for nothing much. I am sorry that other purchasers have had problems, but we are ok with ours so far. The only thing I can criticize about it is that I tried to scoop ice cream straight out of the freezer with one of the spoons and it did a Uri Geller on me and bent. But, FOR THE PRICE, I cannot complain and I know through bitter experience I could have paid more and done a lot worse. Would I buy it again...? probably not- because I really need 6 knives, forks and spoons and I've only got four in this set.

Sturdy and stylish set. Knife is good and sharp.

I have been very pleased with this cutlery set. They were in perfect condition when I received them and in my opinion are very sturdy. The knives cut very well and the shape make them a bit more unusual. The colour is a nice light cream. I will be ordering another set.

First and foremost, I was pleased with this product. The individual pieces are very distinctive and have some nice features like the metal 'press stud' where the handle meets the blade which makes a comfortable place to rest your finger when using the product. I think the handles are plastic, but if they are they are good quality plastic and hard to distinguish from laquered wood. The steel of the business end of the pieces runs all the way through the handle for extra durability unlike some cheaper models where the handles are all plastic through and through.Would have been five stars had the blade of the knives been a little thicker, as it is the blades are a little thin (for my taste)and do not have the same quality feel as the rest of the set - they are very sharp, however, and make easy work of steak!

Love this cutlery but - one of the bees have actually come away from one of the forks. But I would buy this item again. Lovely to hold & cuts through any cooked meat etc.

I needed to change my old cutlery and because I have difficulty using cutlery with the modern slim handles I searched the Amazon site and found this set. I was delighted with it when it arrived well before the delivery date estimate. I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a smart cutlery set! Such a bright addition to the dinner table,with handles that are great for me to use without having to grip so hard to maintain my hold on them. A great, colourful product!

Well made, easy to use, clean ect.

Not the cheapest on amazon and obviously not the most expensive BUT I think it really needs to cost £10 lessReally poor quality

Non sono niente contenta di questo articolo. Mi sento rubata perché mettono posate swiss quindi uno vede questo e pensa che sono di qualità. Invece gli ho messi nel lavastoviglie e si sono arrugginiti da subito. Non ho mai avuto questo prima e adesso mi vedo obbligata a comprare altre posate perché non ho il tempo di lavargli a mano. Non lo consiglio.

Habe selten so eine schlechte Qualität von Besteck erlebt. Das Metall ist sicher kein Edelstahl und auch völlig zerkratzt . Plastikgriffe so billig verarbeitet, dass die Nuten sich mit blosser Hand herausdrücken lassen. Das kann u.Umst. sehr gefährlich sein bei Kleinkindern, die das verschlucken könnten.Alles in allem ist vom Kauf mehr als abzuraten.

Più belle che buone... rapporto qualità prezzo. Troppo costose per quello che valgono. Molto forse troppo leggere nella parte dei rebi.
