A good quality inductor and does the job well.
After reading the reviews on this it is a much better performer than I anticipated. Yes, it is slower to heat up things using pans that are not induction friendly, but I still get a boiling liquid without having to wait very long at all, still much quicker than my old ceramic hob. I will probably purchase the smaller one too as using this large size inductor under a saucepan with a smaller base isn't recommended.

Fine, but not as good as an induction-compatible pan
I'll start by saying that the product works well - I've used it with an aluminium frying pan with no problems. However, there are compromises; you need to be careful about matching the size of the plate with your pan base and the ring, and it stays hot for a long time after use, during which time it is tricky to move. Finally, the handle is only useful for hanging it up after use, not for removing it after use.I bought it to extend the life of a vintage pressure cooker that I use only occasionally, and would be very expensive to replace. I've no regrets about buying it for this purpose. However, for day-to-day use I'd recommend buying an induction compatible pan.

Waste of Money
For me, this product is not worth a tiny fraction of the money.I have gone back to using my very old single electric ring for any of my cookware that is not induction-compatible. I thought that ring was slow and therefore expensive in energy use, but this takes the biscuit - even with the hob on Power Boost it takes for ever to start heating food, let alone cooking it.And, I would never use the 'handle'. If you left it attached, the plate would not lie flat and it would damage the hob, if you removed it for cooking, you would not be able to attach it after cooking, as the plate would be very hot.For me, a big waste of money.

Brilliant for gas hobs. Well made.
Perfect heat distribution over a gas flame. I bought this to use on my gas hob when simmering over a low heat and it works perfectly. This means less hot spots so less chance of food burning and less stirring. I bought 2 sizes and have used each only once so far. No discolouration or warping so I'm hoping these will be a good investment. The handle is good for placement over an already hot burner or moving from one to another though I can see it's not suitable for a flat surface such as an induction hob.

Very bad quality, do not use
Left huge stains on the hob and probably ruined it forever. Very bad quality, do not use!!

Takes longer
Had to buy this as cookware was not induction suitable as stated. These work ok but takes a lot longer to heat up

Expresso once more!
Having purchased an induction hob my only disappointment was that my traditional Italian expresso pot would not work. The solution is the Frabosk which works very well. The 'brewing' time is slightly longer than it would be without the adaptor plate but only by a couple of minutes. I had noted other reviews mentioning discolouration of the hob but this had not been my experience however I would not use the handle supplied as this would scratch the hob surface - I allow the plate to cool or use my over glove. In summary a simple but effective product with which I am delighted.

Does what it's supposed to do but the handle could be better designed.
Although probably not as efficient as using "proper" induction pans, heating up our non induction pans is still significantly faster using this disk than it used to be on our very recently retired old style electric plates hob that would take several minutes to heat up so we're happy. The handfull of non induction pans/pots we have kept are in good condition and sit perfectly flat on the diffuser/disk, that's no doubt significant to a good heat transfer. As the only likely location of sharp edges liable to scratch/mark the hob would be around the holes where the handle fits, I made sure there were no such edges by feel and by rubbing the disk in all directions on a sheet of paper, no sharp edges, no tears or marks on the paper... all good ! Having said that, I suppose it is possible to cause a protruding sharp edge as you keep removing/reinserting the handle ?The only critisism I have is about the handle itself. The only use for it is to hang the disk somewhere or other. If you leave it on, the disk won't sit flush and if you remove it while the disk is on the hob, it's sharp edges could possibly cause some scratches on the glass surface. You can't reinsert the handle without lifting the disk either, a tad tricky when it's hot so we generally just leave it to cool down on the hob !
