Fantastic and the only way to paint outside
This is a near replica Holbein which is now unobtainable. These palettes are wonderful. Light yet reasonably sturdy. Thumb hole so you can paint outdoors with them. The paint somehow mixes and remains on the metal much better than on plastic or ceramic palettes. I now have 5 of them in different sizes. I think the original Holbeins were sturdier but 3 times this price. So buy 3 !!! I was amazed at how much easier it is to mix paints on metal. A revelation. Marvellous

Really great value palette
Great palette i really like it , good size wells light aluminium construction, it has a wonderful clean construction...It is light but i guess that would only be a possible issue if you have ever owned a heavier brass/ copper one .... as i have , as it happens .For the money you could not possibly criticise any part of it

Came in a good condition, the colour was a little bit faded ...
Came in a good condition, the colour was a little bit faded but other than that it’s a good quality palette with a lot of Wells. It’s a bit smaller than I expected it to be but I was looking for a smaller one than my Cotman 45 half pan studio set so perfect! It’s a good size with nice mixing wells, just waiting for my Holbein paints to come. It does seem like the palette that Miyazaki uses but obviously this one won’t be as good quality as his actual Holbein palette, if you’re looking for a substitute this one would be a good one for you. I’m looking to recreate a Miyazaki palette myself.

Aluminium pallet
A little disappointed with the thin gauge , seems a bit on the thin side ,only time will tell if it holds together , otherwise it is a nice pallet. The inside has enamel mixing area and nice size wells . Looking forward to putting it to task with my Winsor and Newton water colours.

Good price for a metal palette
This is perfect for my needs. A decent amount of room for mixing, enough wells for a good choice of colours, seems sturdy, easy to clean. Happy customer.

A terrible disappointment.
I have had a good experience with inexpensive Asian paint boxes. They have been lightweight but of good quality and value for money. So when I spotted what seemed to be an inexpensive version of the classic Holbein palette that had received good reviews I immediately ordered it.Unfortunately when it arrived it did not snap shut as promised and the lid and base were poorly made with a noticeable gap between them,On closer inspection the white inner surface had many flaws- dimples, ridges and scratches - some of them back to the bare metal. The black exterior was dented and scratched and the thumbhole had a rough, sharp edge that I think would be dangerous to use without some modification. This was neither what was described nor what I expected and was a terrible disappointment. If you, like me, were hoping for an inexpensive version of a classic design of watercolour palette I am afraid that this is not it.

Good quality
This is an excellent paint tin. I bought it for keeping small amounts of gouache, squeezed from tubes, in for en plein air painting. The sections are sloped so it helps stop paints mixing accidentally. It's OK as long as you don't use the 6 end sections as they are not airtight enough to keep the paint from congealing for very long.I have now bought a tin of Caran D'Ache gouache in cake form as they should be handier. Can't return this one as it's slightly stained but it'll probably come in handy if I go back to watercolours.

Be careful!
My concerns with this product were1. Some artist grade pigment permanently stained the wells. Cobalt blue hue in particular. This makes colour assessment harder2. The paint beads just as it would on plastic, more or less. After repeated use this lessened, but not enough in my opinion3. The tin doesn't lie flat when open. The lid will hover slightly above the table. For £23 I expect the quality to be much higher. I've had to return.
