Peak output on the Victron specs is 900Watts. It does this for a short time. Normal max operating load is closer to 400Watts. To find DC amps just take Watts divided by Volts. 400\12 = 33.33Amps.

Can this be wired directly to starting battery with a isolater relay to only allow it to turn on when engine is running ?

I believe you can. It has a remote on/off dry contact with a jumper wire by default, to which you can connect a relay to start the inverter whenever you need it. Open contact stops the inverter, closed contact (defaul by the wire jumper) will start the inverter when the on switch is also on.
