Fantastic suit to aid teaching young ones on the basics of swimming
This product is perfect for teaching my 25 month old how to hold correct body position, and move in a basic manner in our pool. I read many reviews before buying but it seems people do not understand how this suit is meant to work. It is not a suit designed for life saving nor will it hold a youngster in the water the right way up IF they are not aware of how to hold their bodies in the water which means parental effort. It is NOT a dangerous item, but you have a duty of care to research what this is for..... go to the splashabout website directly or watch some videos on youtube!Previously i bought a mothercare float suit but the gusset to float measure was too long and the floats would ride up under her chin. Her torso measurement matched to this float suit means the floats are in the perfect position around her belly and lower chest, but it did mean that we had to hold the back of the suit in the beginning and reinforce by touch for her to keep her legs beneath. This is important to stop her from rolling to her front face down, something that we were anticipating. This is not altogether a bad thing because you can teach them to roll to their back as a lifesaving measure, just so long as they know to spit the water out thier mouths first and not try to retain it.... work in progress for us! So we are trying not to let her roll forwards just yet.She had been using the other float suit, which was not ideal, for 1 month. Today, and only after two uses, constant reinforcement that legs go beneath her, she understands how to hold her position and kick her legs in a primitive treading water style. She even managed to kick and move herself 1.5m unaided to hold onto the side of the pool.Do not let go of your child too soon, once they get the confidence themselves they will be pushing you away to try it alone, but you must be there to correct thier position as they potentially roll forward or sideways, especially when they get tired from all the excitement of "look! I can do it!!".I love the zip down the back, this makes it much easier to get on and off compared to the mothercare one, and the fact there are 16 floats (compared to 8 in the other) means much more flexibility to adjust degree of flotation as she gets more confident. The material is great quality and hasn't stretched with use so far. I have had a number of splashabout products in the past, and have always been happy with them and this is no exception. Highly recommended!

Great float suit
Lovely design, feels good quality, arrived on time. Stays in place better than a float vest which tends to rise up once in the water. Helps child to feel more confident and relaxed in the water. Bit of a pain to wash in machine as floats have to come out so I hand wash. Easy to get on but take off carefully as sticks when child is wet and floats get in the way. Has given my child the confidence to let go of me so I can supervise her but also help her to learn to swim.

Highly recommend
I highly recommend this product and over the years have brought several for all of my children- they are really great aids for teaching kids how to swim and they make water play both safe and fun. Really easy to get on and off too (unlike many brands) all 3 of my kids have loved them.

Great Cozie.
Really good as a bit of extra help when swimming with our 18 month old daughter. It's nothing like a swim ring it's just a bit of extra help with bouancy.

Floats not very secure
The product as a whole does what its supposed too, but the way the floats are held is not very secure. Lost 2 in the first outing as they are just pushed into a elasticated fabric loop pocket.

Poor quality
I've just got back from holiday to which I brought this for my 1 year old. I have had one before (a different brand) and they are amazing. We went away and the zip fell apart! This meant swimming then became as issue as a normal costume didn't offer the same support.I've just arrived back from holiday and now 1 day late to return the faulty item. Not happy

beginners
A good way to feel confident in the sea or a pool. The sizing is correct. A great idea is that you can gradually take the floats away once the child feels more confident. Overall, happy with the purchase.

Great concept but a fail on the crotch area for girls.
Very thin in crotch and does not provide adequate coverage in front or back. The fabric is almost see through and not good for little girls. The back doesn't provide adequate coverage.

Didn’t work.
It did not keep my great granddaughters head out of the water. When she wore it it would make her tilt forward. Sent it back. Good idea though.

Just ok
Works well to keep daughter afloat however it began deteriorating and the fabric started stretching out not long after we had it. Have owned it for just a few months this summer and can’t use it anymore because it’s simply too worn out and I don’t feel comfortable with how unsupportive it is now.

Super awesome!
This is by far the best investment I have ever made in a floaty! The bathing suit is cool because you can slowly start taking out the Floaties and by the time you take out the last few, your child could be swimming! Love love love this thing And so does my two year-old!
