How does this stay working or charge?

Dear customer, the water pump is not battery-driven, so it doesn’t require battery replacements. Working similarly to an iPhone wireless charger, the power supply to the pump is located at the base of the water fountain; As soon as we plug in the pet water fountain and place the water pump at the surface of the base part, water flows. Additionally, the whole water pump is detachable and convenient to water wash.

can i use a regular charging pad to power this pump?

My fountain’s red button keeps turning on then off along with the water in spurts. I replaced the pump as it was barely pushing water out.

what I've been doing lately is taking the pump apart and cleaning it out under the faucet. I comes apart in three pieces (if I recall) and is really easy to put back together. What I have found is that when the pump is barely pumping, the insides of the pump are likely "mucked" up with mold/algae etc... and flushing that out makes it as good as new. Hopefully that helps for you as well
