Got tired of having my valve caps stolen from my vehicle. These are smooth finished and tighten in place with a small hex key. This makes it very difficult to try to take off with your fingers. It would take another hex key or a pair of pliers to remove. I keep my hex key in a plastic baggie along with my wheel lock key. After a year I still haven't lost one yet!

This product is advertised as a 'security valve cap', which one would think that these caps have the ability to prevent them from being removed from a valve stem without a special tool. It turns out that these are just a set of aluminum valve caps that have a hex indent on the tip, in which an Allen key (included) can be used to tighten the cap further than you normally would by simply hand tightening them.There are no locking mechanisms or set screws to prevent the caps from being removed by normal means. They may have a smooth texture on the outside of them, making it more difficult to remove them if they're slippery, which would then be aided in removal by using the Allen key, but other than that 'security' feature, these are just shiny metal valve caps.If you want these for looks? They look cool. But if you want these for security purposes? They will fail in that aspect.Overall, these are being marketed as a security device for tire valve stems, but that is false advertising."Caveat emptor"

Not exactly "locking" but they do their job, are low profile and look very nice at a great price.

I kept losing air in my work van tire , I thought I ran over a nail or something then I remembered a cap was missing to my valve stem so I decided to order some caps the next day i found out I had a leak in my old valve stem because after I put the new valve stem cap on ,the leak stopped completely, plus they lock so I never have to worry about theft or caps that fall off . I would highly recommend these caps to anyone. Great fit, great quality.
