Great Value
I have a couple of smaller single LED, single 18650 battery flashlights like the Fenix PD32 which are small, light and designed for "always carry." One rides in a Nite Ize holster with my Leatherman tool. I've become a big fan of the 18650 battery which has lots of power but even more important is internally electronically regulated so that it delivers full voltage until exhausted. The flashlight does not dim during long use.I was looking for a larger "grab and go" flashlight using the same CREE LED, 18560 battery technology - something like a modern version of the old 4 to 6 D cell Maglite. The Trustfire is about half the price of the much smaller Fenix so my expectation wasn't too high despite good reviews here.I'm really pleased. It feels great in my hand. As you can see from the picture, the head diameter is larger - about the size of the D cell Maglite - and the body is slim - a little larger than the Fenix. It feels solid and balanced if I hold the body just behind the head. It is heavier than I expected - there is a lot of solid aluminum. I doesn't show well in the picture but the ridges just back of the head are quite deep and designed to be a heat sink - all that heat when on full power needs to go somewhere. For tactical use I prefer the Fenix which uses one switch (right under your thumb) to change modes and another at the back to turn on momentarily or fully. With only one switch at the back, the Trustfire changes mode each time you turn it on or off. If you turn it off, you need to cycle through 5 on and offs (10 button pushes) to get back to the same mode.I can't verify 3800 lumens but it is a really bright floodlight. At medium power just laying on the ground at the edge of a camp site it provides plenty of illumination for set up - much better than my Fenix with a headlamp adapter. If you are comfortable with the pro style industrial 18650 LiIon rechargeable battery - like in a laptop - this is a good choice. About the size and weight of an old high quality 2 D cell flashlight but a lot brighter, longer lasting in use and probably more important, longer shelf life until you need it.

TrustFire 3800 3xCree XM-L6 led flash light
First off let me state that I'm by no means a expert on light / Lumen out put but what I can tell you is Im a flash light nut I have Surefire flashlights that cost upward of 5-600 bucks and I know why I do I can put my life on it when using it for duty ie. mounted on my weapon be it a hand gun or a rifle.Enough about that and on to my new favorite daily use flashlight I LOVE this light TrustFire 3800 3xCree XM-L6 led flash light it exceeds my demands for a light in any price range .I even mounted it on a Remington 1100 20 gauge to do some night skeet shooting at buddy of mine who owns a bunch of land here in Fl. It did great held up fine I really didn't expect that so it is always a plus .The thing I like the most is it can be configured in a couple different what's you can use the supplied battery extension ant it's just aInch and quarter linger then my Streamlight stinger and in its non extension use about a inch and a half longer then my Surefire P2X Fury and as long as my M952V that's mounted on on of my M4sSo with that said I think it a awesome light don't let it's price fool you into thinking its not made well it's by no means a hard core battle proven weapons light or anything like that but it's not going to let you down in pretty little suburbia etheir You aint in Bagdad and thank god for that so by the light buy some extra batteries and a charger and there you go 4 rechargeable batteries and a charger will set you back with light under 60/70 bucks and not look back . I do have to warn you it's bright real bright like make you squint bright I can light up a football field end to end and side to sideI also went skeet shooting and it was like shooting in day light it was bleeping awesome so stop reading and go and by one alreadyCons : I don't own more then 2 :(

flash light
i bought this didnt realize it didnt come with battery til after i bought it. but it is bright i saw in the category at the bottom of it of stuff that people bought with it and bought the battery and i do like it the only thing is when i got it the little rubber thing was off my one part of the lip and soo the button doesn't work all the way right when you press the button. im a mechanic so i kinda neeed it to work first try no probs but i did take it to work today and its the brightest one there and it helped me out alot i really do like it i think it was worth the money 300 lumen flashlights can be like $200 no this is defiantly not 3800 but i do feel like it is about 500-1000 if the button worked better. the whole button moves around and the like if it taps against something to hard it turns off but it is because the rubber holds the conductor down soo you can choose what selection you want there are 5 different selection's theres high medium and low strobe and morphs code.

Great flashlight and I received all 3 pieces!
This is a great flashlight for its price, and even without considering its price. It has an extremely bright light that's not a "spot" or "flood" light but something between which is very useful. Thankfully it doesn't auto-dim in just 2 minutes in the Max setting and the head gets just a bit warm after my first test run of 6 minutes. I'm sure it could easily have gone longer before getting hot. Heat is the price you pay for having 3x CREE LED's running at max but this TrustFire does a good job of transferring the heat from the LED's to the flashlights body. This flashlight is a winner. 3 quality batteries will cost you as much as the flashlight. I tested with 2x Fenix ARB-L2 protected 18650 batteries. The flashlight will hold 3 batteries with the extension tube attached, this would give you a longer run time but not a brighter light. 2 batteries: 3.7V x 2 = 7.4V and 3 batteries: 3.7V x 3 = 11.1V but the regulator circuit built into the flashlight steps down the 7.4V or 11.1V to the appropriate voltage for the LED's. What you gain with the 3rd battery is higher "watt-hours" which what counts. Higher watt-hours equals longer run time.I ordered mine from Gadgets Map thru Prime and it arrived in just one day, I must be near a distribution center in CA. The flashlight they shipped me has all 3 pieces just as pictured on the Amazon site.
