These moisture meters are actually working. I am writing this review 2 1/2 weeks after I set them up. The moisture readings (as a %) feel like they are closely tracking what my fingers tell me - just more precisely. I realized I was over-watering a couple of hanging plants. I wait until the level falls below 10% and they are quite happy - even during our recent hot stretch of mid-90s and in full sun. Customer Service is excellent (an all too rare quality now-a-days); thank you Nicole! When I asked whether I could use more than one monitor without them interfering with each other, I received very thorough and clearly written instructions. And, yes, I have ordered a second set and additional sensors to bring each set up to 6.

Set it up and place all 4 in the same spot*. My sensors are 46%, 67%, 52%, and 63%. The temp and light sensors are more consistent.So it works, but you'll need to note the variances.*Best to use a well packed soil or an older plant; that should ensure the probes are in homogeneous soil.

I've had this device and its components in use for a week now. Time will tell us about their longevity. So far, they work exceptionally well. I do find that having the monitor inside my stucco home does shorten the range of the outdoor plant moisture probes. I have six moisture probes in use on the one monitor. Set-up was a breeze.

Edit/Update: The 1 out of 4 sensors that I assumed wasn't working just needed to be placed in a better spot. For some reason the moisture detection doesn't work well in my front garden so i spent several minutes trying it in different spots throughout a 4 square foot patch until it suddenly started cooperating. My guess is there's simply too many rocks in my soil for it to get an accurate measurement in most areas, so i must have finally hit a spot that's more soil than rock.Original Review, minus the complaint about a bad sensor:Batteries are included, i put them in the base unit first, then each of the 4 sensors. I didn't realize it pairs automatically as you put batteries in each sensor unit, so my stickered numbers that i put on didn't match and i had to re-pair, but that's easy too.Sensor number is in the bottom right corner next to soil temperature, light levels aren't measured quite the way i expected, but it's still helpful to see throughout the day so i can figure out which areas get more and less sun for future gardening. Moisture level is helpful so i know during the summer if my plants need a second watering.Oddly despite all the extras this comes with, there were only 3 tabbed notes instead of 4, but that's not a big deal. Already ordered a replacement for the one wonky sensor, and 2 more so i have the full 6 (6 units per base station, i have 4 currently). Only things this doesn't do are give me a daily average of sun exposure and PH levels, but that's not a huge deal.

Unfortunately, the reality fell way short.I noticed the readings were completely inconsistent when compared to other trusted tools I’ve used for years. The moisture levels are not even within an acceptable margin of error — they were way off, often giving misleading data that could seriously harm your plants if you relied on it.The core purpose of this tool — accurate readings — isn’t there. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone serious about plant care. Save your money and invest in something more reliable

The product works, but you must remove the sensor from the soil for each reading, so if you want to leave the sensors in the soil and just be able to look at the display device to determine the water level, you can not. The display will tell you a reading, but it's not accurate at all. You have to remove the device and then put it back into the plant.I'm not sure how accurate the information is that is displayed. But it definitely lets you know if you're completely out of water so it sort of works. I would not purchase it again but it will get me by until I find something better.

What a great idea on keeping your soil moisture levels in-line with what they should be. It makes you feel like you have a green thumb when maybe you don’t. Plants are thriving. If only they had a chart on best moisture levels for each plant. Veggies are 41-80% which is very broad but doable for the averages.

Works as advertised, good value. I don't know how accurate the readings are, but they work with WiFi as expected. easy to set up, but must be done in order; one sender at a time
