As Delicious as the Authors Say!
Before I ordered this book, I couldn’t help but wonder what it could be about. The title, The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, made it clear that it focused on the DLC, but how could there possibly be enough content for an entire book? After all, the first book already covered the main game and even included nine pages about the DLC. Was this new book just a reprint of the Cuphead story with an expanded DLC section? Or perhaps a deluxe edition with a mix of recycled content and fan-only extras? With all these thoughts swirling in my head, I decided to take a chance—and I have no regrets!★★★★★ ArtIf you’re familiar with The Art of Cuphead, rest assured that this is a worthy Volume II. If not, prepare to be amazed! Unlike many other artbooks, this one is packed with hundreds (!) of sketches, concepts, drafts, and ideas that are just as incredible as the final versions. Most artbooks show just a few early designs alongside the handful of polished results, but The Art of Cuphead breaks the mold. The meticulousness and creativity of the MDHR team shine through every page. I found myself captivated by the sheer number of alternate designs and work-in-progress sketches, many of which could easily have made it into the final game.Ever wondered how the surreal bosses, their phases, and their unique attacks came to life? This book reveals the process behind each one. You’ll see dozens of variations for every character before the final decision was made. It’s absolutely mesmerizing!★★★★★ TextThis book was written by Studio MDHR themselves, and they clearly have a lot of stories to share! The chapters cover everything from creating Ms. Chalice and the new game island to designing bosses, NPCs, cutscenes, and even exploring cut levels. There’s also a fascinating section about merchandise, including books, toys, and other collectibles. However, I wonder why they didn’t even mention The Cuphead Show, which not only ran for three seasons but also has its own dedicated artbook, The Art of the Cuphead Show.It took me a while to finish reading because of the wealth of information, but once again, I was captivated by the MDHR team’s dedication and meticulous approach to their craft.★★★★★ Book DesignThis portrait-oriented artbook is beautifully designed, continuing the aesthetic of the first volume. It has no dust jacket which is a plus, in my opinion. The layouts are clean and well-organized, with every piece of artwork and text perfectly placed. Flipping through the pages and taking in the fresh, just-out-of-the-print smell was a delight!★★★★★ PriceAs of January 2025, the book—released in November 2024—hasn’t yet seen significant discounts. However, with prices starting at $28 plus delivery, it’s a fair deal for a high-quality artbook of this caliber.★★★★★ Overall ImpressionsIf you’re reading this, chances are you’re already familiar with Cuphead. Whether you’re a die-hard fan, a casual admirer, or a collector of video game artbooks, this book has something to offer.Reading The Art of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, I was struck by the incredible effort, passion, and creativity that Studio MDHR poured into their work. This book isn’t just a continuation of the story told in Volume I—it’s a testament to the artistry and heart behind every frame of the game.Thank you, Moldenhauer brothers, for giving us the chance to revisit the enchanting world of 1930s rubber-hose animation nearly a century later. Your dedication and love for your craft shine through in every page of this masterfully created volume.

A Great book with Tons of Wonderful Art
I loved every bit of the book. Especially the drawing and sketches. It reminds me of the drawings I'd draw in my sketchbooks. Now I'm curious as to what's next in store for the "Cuphead" series.

Strong Classic Disney Influences
I don't think I can ever reiterate enough how much I LOVE the art from this game! It's very clear to see that there's a stronger classic Disney influence that went into it! And while I still like the main game, there's just something about the DLC I've come to like a lot moreThe hardcover book having its own little built-in bookmark is such a neat touch considering the only other book I've seen with that is the BibleIt's also so cool to have the animation cels from the start screen, mainly because actual vintage animation celluloids are expensive as hell and becoming scarcer in this digital era we live in

The best book I've owned with a small page mishap
Really love this book, but page 135 has a miscut at the bottom; the corner is folded, and the ink was printed on top of it.Doesn't stop me from enjoying it, though 😊

A Recipe Made With Love & Care
This art book expands greatly on the DLC section from the first Cuphead art book, so many details regarding character concepts, ideas for attacks, beautifully crafted backgrounds and props, etc. Studio MDHR has done it again, and it was truly worth the wait, again!

Must-have for any collector or fan
May just be my favorite book to come out of Cuphead. The development stories, the process behind the art and animation, the cut content, the merchandise, there is genuinely something from everyone here. Do not skip out on this.
