are the doors 24 x 80 or is the opening 24 x 80? pls adv - many thanks katherine

The actual doors (2 - 12" panels with hinges equaling 24") are 23 7/8" wide, just under 24". The actual length is between 1/4" & 1/8" shorter than 80". Your opening should be just a bit over 24"x80" because the top and bottom of the doors (panels) need a bit of space to move freely and remember there's hardware to install at the top and bottom to allow the door to swing.

Can these be cut down to a 79 instead of 80

Yes. I cut 3" off the bottom with an electric hand saw.

It looks like staining them might be a problem. Do they look ok without doing anything to them? I can't paint them because I have alot of wood in ro

I stained mine and they turned out very nice. You could leave them unstained but I would recommend a few coats of varathane or maybe tung oil to seal them. I used a foam brush to apply the stain and lint free rag to wipe off the excess. I just wrapped the rag around a putty knife to wipe off the excess stain between the louvers and in crevices. It was actually much easier than I expected.

Can I get this to fit a 45" opening?

This is a 36" door, so 45" opening will be too large.
