I created these earrings using vintage Eja (Aja) African trade beads. There are two spellings for the name of the African tribe. These Venetian glass beads were traded and the tribe would heat them, then flattened them. That process makes these earrings truly one of a kind. The spacer beads are vintage opaque red glass. Sterling silver wire was used to wrap the beads and the ear wires are sterling silver.The name of the Mali tribe is spelled both ways, Eja and Aja.
