Great little bar tool
I thought this was a gimmick but was quickly proven wrong. It does indeed work and leaves no sharp edges. Every now and then you have to fish out the lid, but no big deal. And some thinner cans get a little dented when holding the can to turn the tool. Again, no big deal. Much nicer way to drink a beer or soft drink.Only think is start slowly to let any carbonation out so it does not spill all over the place.

Unnecessary, but awesome at the same time
I ordered the standard black and grey color, but was sent the "ghost" white version instead. The color wasn't a huge deal for me so I decided to keep it, but I would've preferred the one I ordered. This is something that's been on my watch list for a while. Ever since seeing this product for the first time, I've wanted one. When I originally added it to my list, it was more expensive. As the prices came down, it became a bit more attractive. Honestly, I still had a hard time spending the money on a largely unnecessary can opener. That said, I'm glad I did! After reading and executing the instructions, this thing is a little tricky to use. Even after getting the hang of it, it doesn't work perfectly every time. Most of the time though, it works perfectly and leaves no sharp edges.Drinking out of the topless can is strangely pleasurable, especially when it's beer. You get the scent of your beverage without pouring it into a glass, and I believe it enhances the taste. Although some would argue that you don't need this opener and you can just pour it into said glass (true), it's a game changer for sure.Lastly, the day after I received the Draft Top LIFT, I was heading to a party. My wife suggested taking this with us, and it was an absolute hit! Everybody at the party was interested in this gadget. I got plenty of practice as I found myself opening everyone's cans throughout the party. It worked on everything from the kids soda to the adult beer and seltzer. I'm sure I sold a few of these for Draft Top.Summary: Do you need it? No. Should you buy one? Yes! Just do it!

nifty
ok so this thing is pretty great. for the most part it lives up to its promise. on 'regular size' cans (12oz) it does an excellent job, so far no left over bits of metal.however, i find on smaller cans - say the 8.4oz redbull cans, or even slightly larger seltzer cans - it tends to leave a sharp piece that will cut you if you don't take care of it before you drink.it won't work on larger diameter cans, it's sized for 'regular' cans.definitely watch the video. it takes a little practice to get it down, but it's pretty easy. hold the can at the bottom when you turn it or you will crush the can.the 'trick' to getting the cut-out part out of the can using the opener is once you are finished cutting (you will know, it's pretty obvious), first release the grip (because that's holding onto the can) then 'peel' up gently from the side where the tab is clipped onto the opener. it's got a magnet that's supposed to grab the cut-out. most of the time it works, tho sometimes you still have to fish it out of the can. they tend to sink but then surface again so if you miss it you fish it out when it comes up. and in any case you still have to manually extract it from the opener, there's no 'eject.'so you will need to rinse it off when you are done with it, it gets wet. and while it's easy enough to rinse, water will get inside and there are no drain holes. you just have to shake it out the best you can.so 1 star off for lack of good drainage (i could see it getting moldy if you just dropped it in a drawer), and for the iffy cut-out removal and occasional barbs leftover.but overall i'm glad i got it, use it pretty much any time i drink out of a can.

Not a clean cut
Great idea! Worked great for about 10-15 uses and then it stopped holding the lid. Every time I opened a can the lid would fall into my drink. I also noticed it wouldn’t leave a completely clean rim 100% of the time. Returned

2 dozen beers and no issues.
Lots of fun and workds great. You'll definitely want to hold the can by the bottom as you twist. And the tab holder took a tone or two to figure out, but really all that does is keeps the lid from falling back into the can. I've used it about 2 dozen times and never had a sharp edge. This is a better way to drink beer.
