Shimano Solstace FI Spinning Reel (6.2:1)

I bought this little reel 3 years ago for catching pinfish for bait. It has held up in salt water use and works well - smooth, light, no problems. Now and then a larger snapper or Barracuda will take the little bait and the fun really starts.

A good starter reel for any fisherman

this item was labeled new but when it arrived it was noticeably scratched on the rotor and was not smooth at all. It felt like I was fighting too much resistance every time I reeled it in.

Decent reel. Doesn't blow you away but is is a good serviceable reel for the money.

I've taken this reel out 4 or 5 times since purchased, and it hasn't disappointed. Smooth, solid, quality design for around $40, feels like stealing (;

smooth and has held up well in salt water...a little heavy and it's a little slower on the retrieve than i like though

During first spring season with this real the bail wire is failing. I simply counted my loses and replaced this real with pflueger president. This is not the quality I would expect from shimano

I purchased this reel at a sporting goods store, not amazon, but nonetheless I do own one. After reading a few reviews I felt it my duty to chime in. I am an avid fisherman, 4-8 trips a month. So for me, quality is everything. This reel is too heavy for my personal taste given its ability. With that said, if you have the extra $, buy the next step up. However, If you're only gonna use it a few times a year, most definitely worth the money.
