My original set of these from 25 years ago are still going strong ... no chips, and not a single one has cracked.The only reason I purchased another 12 of these, is because over the years they have become etched and scratched from knife use and dishwasher washings. I have not discarded them, but now have a new second set to use when friends stop by for an impromptu meal.The size and shape of these bowls are so versatile, they are by far, the dishes we use most everyday. They are almost like dinner plates with rims to prevent sloshing and spills.Dinner sized salads can be tossed and eaten without spilling over the sides, works great for a stew or curry, and anything with a gravy or sauce. . . especially for casual dining away from the dining table, ie on the sofa holding this bowl in your lap.This is also my dish of choice to use whenever a recipe that says to brown something in the pan, then set aside. I put my cooked proteins in this bowl and it easily holds all the juices that come out while the protein rests.As a side note, they are space saving and nest and stack well in the cabinet and also in the dishwasher.

I just purchased a vintage set of dishes from the 70's and I did not want the salad plates that go with the set. I wanted a salad bowl as that is what I am accustomed to. I needed a clear bowl so as not to clash with or take away from the dish pattern. I considered many bowls but then I found these. They are very simple, clear bowls. They are the perfect size and weight. Not flimsy at all. I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a nice, sleek, clear salad bowl.

I bought these to replace my pasta bowls that were broken during a recent move. On your site the "bowls" were actually described as "plates". Plates are not usually 4" deep. These are perfect salad and/or pasta bowls. They match perfectly and I was thrilled to find and receive them. I kept searching for pasta/salad bowls and these were never found in the search responses. I just lucked out!

My family loves these bowls. We use them all the time. We’ve had a few for over ten years. They’ve been used and abused and outlasted our other bowls we’ve bought, so it’s time to get rid of the other remaining bowls and replace them with more of these.

My parents have had a set like this FOR YEARS! I liked them but I didn't realize just HOW MUCH I liked them until recently, when I'd be at home (where I just have plates and regular cereal/soup bowls) and I'd go to serve a salad or pasta or rice dish and I just kept wishing that I had my parents' calotte bowls.So I bought my family a set.I expect these will be as durable as my parents'. They're clear glass, so they look great with our existing sets. I'm really psyched to add these to our cabinet!

I had to return 2 sets in 2 days, immediately upon arrival. First set had a plate with a long wavy Crack visible. The other plates had pitting, but did not photograph those, as it was clear the plates had to be returned. The vendor was not Amazon, but the products were fulfilled by Amazon. A replacement arrived next day (this time, they only sent a beat-up looking product box with no external box, and bottom tape was coming off). The second box of plates at first appeared to have only very tiny smudge specks of something, but thise turned out to be pitting, where tiny pieces of glass was missing. Running my fingers over the spots, I felt the jagged edges scratching my skin. In addition, there were wavy irregularities along the bottom of the bowls and some of the rims.I have to wonder if the vendor purchased a lot of rejected, irregular products to resell on Amazon - that is the impression I got from getting two consecutive deliveries of defective plates

Big. Sturdy, heavy. Worth the extra cost compared to the usual cheap ones. Nice embossed logo on the bottom.
