Comfortable, Secure, and Trail-Ready – A Perfect Fit
I purchased the Teva Men’s Hurricane XLT2 Sandals and decided to size down slightly from my usual 10.5 sneakers to a size 10—and it turned out to be a perfect fit.The sandals are lightweight yet supportive, with straps that hold the foot securely without causing discomfort, even on long days. The standout feature for me has been the excellent traction. They grip well and don’t slip easily, which gave me confidence even while hiking in Yosemite. For a sandal, that level of slip-resistance on rough terrain is impressive.Overall, the Hurricane XLT2 strikes a great balance between comfort, durability, and functionality. Whether for casual wear or outdoor adventures, it’s a reliable, versatile sandal that I’d highly recommend.

Comparing this sandal (Teva Hurricane XIt2) with Teva Hurricane.
Comparing the this sandal (TEVA Men's Hurricane Xlt2 Sandals) with the Hurricane drift. This shoe is currently slightly more expensive between the two and understandably so. First of all, my son is a lifeguard and spends a lot of time in shallow water, his crocs banged up his feet with blisters on his first day of the summer, perhaps they are too tight. I ordered these two pairs of sandals to choose one to wear instead as they look like they have better support for the sole of the foot when standing all day and fit closer to the foot so there shouldn’t be so much movement or friction.Hurricane (not this shoe)This Sandal is the one on the left on the picture, it is made out of a rubber material similar to crocs but thicker. The strap across the ankle has a more flexible feel to the material than the rest of the shoe, for comfort and durability. You cannot adjust the fit of the straps so if the strap is too tight or too loose, it can’t be adjusted. He finds the shoe very comfortable. Both shoes have the same sole in terms of size, fit and even treads, but this shoe is made of rubber so is much lighter. Completely waterproof.Hurricane XIt2 (this shoe). This is the shoe being reviewed here and the one on the right and the one by itself. This shoe has a heavier duty rubber sole, making is a little heavier but still light. The straps are typical of Teva sandals, more like a stiff waterproof fabric feel and every strap adjusts with velco. This allows a custom fit but my son finds parts of the Velcro digs in unless you have the perfect lined up seal. This shoe also has a comfort padded strap at the heal. More cumbersome to get on with the Velcro long strap.VerdictFor my son’s lifeguard needs or a water/beach shoe we would pick the Hurricane rubber shoe. For hiking or wading through a river I’d pick this shoe, Hurricane XIt2 has more of a hiking weight and feel to the sole and the adjustable straps are helpful for that use.For my son, the less expensive rubber shoe is the clear winner. More comfortable and less fussy and nothing to dry on it. I will also be putting this review on the other shoe reviews with a close up picture of that shoe. In terms of fit, it’s quite a wide fit and a typical size 9. Both soles are the same size and in each design other than material. Both great sandals, for slightly different needs although both would work in water. Hope this helps someone out.

I Like
I have been holding off on doing a review until I could give these a work out on the hiking trail. Which I just finished today. Across the dam and up the hill on the others side. Up and down hills, they maintained a comfortable grip on my feet. No slipping or otherwise feeling loose or unstable. These sandals are better than my hiking shoes because my toes don't jam up inside the shoes when going down hill. Plus my feet remain cool and dry.

Great sandal, feels a little bit on the small side
Love Tevas. My last pair lasted 6 years.Bought the same size as my normal shoes and it fits fine but feels a little bit on the small side.

Don't hesitate
My husband loves these!!! He had a pair of Columbias and was having slipping issues when his feet got wet. He was unhappy as he specifically wanted them for times when he would possibly be around water. The dogs decided they agreed and tore one up, kind of forcing a replacement. I did a lot of research to ensure we got him a pair that matched his needs. These were the "Gold" recommendation and we can see why. They are light, very durable and comfortable. He has had no issue with them being wet and he loves the way they strap firmly and rarely has to adjust them.

Comfy
Good fit/sizing. Strong material and very comfortable soles. Some other similar sandals are very much less comfortable, but I really like these.

Didn't work for me – Got Blisters
These are well made, the insole/soles offer great cushion and support, the achilles and ankle straps are a bit long but secure and comfortable. Unfortunately I had to return them. On my feet, the leading point of the front delta ring and the edges of straps that loops through it, create a hot spot on the tops of my pinky toes. I tried adjusting the straps in every combination possible but that front corner portion was still very uncomfortable; eventually causing blistering. Ultimately applying moleskin to my toes were the only solution, but that is extremely inconvenient and negates the advantage of a quick strap-on all-weather hiking sandal. And no, I don't want to wear socks with any sandals, especially outdoor, that's what I own boots and sneakers for.

Comfortable.
These sandals are great. Comfortable and easy to put on and take off. Good for walking when you’re not on a gravelly trail..
