Great little chromebook
Upon opening the box i found the laptop, charger and some warranty information. First impressions are good, it feels sturdy and while it's made out of plastic, it is well textured to feel expensive and looks like it could be aluminium from afar.I specifically chose this device because it's lightweight (less than 1kg) because i travel a lot and need something that won't be too heavy, This laptop is just right for the job. Some of the older chromebooks are limited in how many apps can be installed however some chromebooks (this one included) can also run Linux applications and games. This is currently a beta feature which can be turned on via the settings menu. I turned this on straight away and it allowed me to install some photo editing software and the Open Office suite. The charger for the new version of this Chromebook is a type USB C which is handy. The device has two USB C ports, a USB B port, a Micro SD card slot and finally a 3.5mm headphone jack. That's even better support than a 2018 Macbook Pro. This is really useful because i didn't need a dongle to connect my camera or phone to the device. The Micro SD card slot is also useful for adding extra storage or connecting your phone's memory card. The screen is good for an entry level chromebook. I have no problems viewing text from a distance however the side viewing angles let it down a little bit. But lets be honest, who views the screen from the side very often.I really like the keypad. It doesn't feel cheap and the key travel distance is good. The top buttons for sound and brightness are just in the right place. Similarly the touchpad works well. The sound is quiet but it doesn't sound tinny which is nice. However the sound is very clear with earphones in. You can install Spotify and Google play music.Youtube videos play well. I found that some of the older chromebooks struggled with 1080p video streaming but this seems to handle it fine, even with lots of other tabs open. I assume this is because of the 4gb of memory.Overall i give this a solid 9/10.

Probably impossible to beat for the price.
I got this from the warehouse as 'used, acceptable'. Other than the lack of a box it was well wrapped up and had the power supply, so I'm not sure if the box would have contained anything else I'd need. At £60 off the regular price I didn't feel like I was taking much of a chance, even though visible imperfections and damage were mentioned. As it turned out I need not have been concerned. I received the computer at the end of July. It has a 2020-04 date on the bottom, so will get nearly the full software update support from Google for 5 years. It is flawless, charges quickly, holds a charge all day in use, or days with more casual usage. For my needs (email, you-tube, netflix) it is perfect. It's no speed demon, but who needs speed for web browsing or watching videos? There are no annoying fans that start up in the middle of watching or listening to something, it has never got even mildly warm, so using it on your lap is no issue. The speakers are fine, not particularly loud, but enough if you're just watching a movie in bed. There is always a headphone jack if you want loud. It has two USB C, so you can charge, and connect something at the same time. There is also a regular USB slot and an SD card slot, so you can expand the memory, add a mouse etc. The trackpad is fine, better than the one in the last Thinkpad I had at work.At the price I paid for one from the warehouse I can't imagine getting anything as close in value. It is leagues beyond the cheapest windows laptops which are almost unusable.

An excellent lightweight laptop
An excellent all-round laptop, that's great if you plan on doing, casual web browsing, taking notes, or plan on working on the move.Pros:- Lightweight- The plastic body is high quality- Charges very quickly and can hold the charge for a good day or two even if being used continuously- Easy to use- Quick to start up- If already on when opening the laptop it starts instantly- Can handle having many google tabs open and word documents without affecting responsiveness- Bluetooth connectivity ( eg in case you want to run your music to a speaker)- Quite intuitive- Sleek and stylishCons:- If you coming over from another operating system (from windows/mac/linux) it can be a bit tricky at first and you may have to google how to do certain things on it as gestures and key commands aren't explained- The battery indicator can be inaccurate, IE the time it estimates the battery can last for can be inaccurate, but keeping an eye on the battery percentage will let you know as this is accurate- Chrome Os can be limiting at times (especially with the app store)- Desktop short cuts don't seem to be a thing, there a good menu system howeverIt should be noted the laptop is designed for or lightweight work or research papers, and can handle man open tabs, word docs and Spotify simultaneously; and do so on the move. But if you're looking for something to game on, use research specific programs, CAD etc you'll want something with more ram, a more powerful processor and a graphics card.
