Comfortable, totally waterproof socks to keep your feet dry!
After five days and 40 miles of hiking in Arizona's Paria river in my SealSkinz, I was very happy with them. They are very comfortable, and completely waterproof -- to a point. The only times I got water in the sock when when the water level was above the top of the sock, so if I could do it again, I would have bought a taller sock. (Once water gets over the top of the sock, they stay wet until you turn them inside out to dry.) But for the rest of the time, my feet were warm and dry, with no build-up of sweat or humidity. I alternated these socks with a pair of Dexshell Hytherm Waterproof Socks, and while these were a little softer and more comfortable, they weren't as tall, and they got wet in the river more often. They wash in a regular machine just fine, but you need to hang dry them twice: once on the outside, and again inside-out, since the waterproofing makes it impossible to dry the inside otherwise. They fit great, with the medium size a perfect fit for my 9 1/2 US men's-size feet.

Yes you want a pair of these.
I just got these. They seem awesome and Im excited to try them out. They are kinda thick and my shoe is tight over these but I expected that. My winter boots have enough room for layers. These are going on all my backpacking trips from now on. I don't use waterproof shoes. I prefer breathable shoes that I can just walk through water and then will dry out quickly. I have found that gore tex shoes typically will still eventually soak through even in light rain and once wet will take a long long time to dry. On multi day backpacking trips one day of rain may mean several days of wet boots. I don't mind my feet being wet for a day or so but any longer and your skin will begin to rot. So I will only put these on on multi day backpacking trips with more than a day or two or rain. It will be nice to know that I have these. I will update later if I have any problems with them. I will probably get another pair or two.

Dry feet after a wet and muddy ride...
They really work. I often mountain bike ride at Patapsco State Park in MD. The trails I ride cross over three different shallow streams, roughly 10 inches to 1 foot deep. This season I wanted to get into cold weather riding. The outside temperature on a recent ride, was in the low 40s. The water temperature was somewhat colder. I wore a pair of wool socks under these Sealskinz. At the end of the ride, my Mavic biking shoes were wet and muddy. The Sealskins were wet on the outside. However, the pair of wool socks I was wearing underneath the Sealskinz, were completely dry. So dry in fact, that I simply tossed the, outwardly wet, Sealskinz and biking shoes in the trunk, kept my wool socks from the ride on, slipped on my regular shoes and drove home.In hindsight, for really old weather, I should have gotten the heavyweight mid-length version of these socks instead. My feat were still kind of cold but completely dry.

A+ in all categories - amazing invention those water proof socks!
Absolutely terrific socks. Bought them over a year ago. I tried them out on a large stream crossing that year and they were good. But finally got stuck hiking in the rain with my non water-resistant trail trail shoes. They performed better than I expected. Feet stayed dry (expected) and did not get wet due to sweat (it was about 40 F out) and were very comfortable and after 8 miles of serious hiking in the Whites of NH absolutely no blisters. Couldn't have asked for more. One minor thing to keep in mind - keep them away from velcro. The velcro will pull at the sock material - I had velcro on my low gaiters.

Great Socks
These kick butt. Much better than the comparable Hanz product. They fit like a real sock and they are warm.Tip: Gentle wool wash inside out, the smelly bit is inside the sock! Line dry until the inside is dry, then turn the right way out and finish drying Remember these things are waterproof. If you don't dry both sides they will start to smell. The mid length are fairly short, they would be useful for wearing with waterproof pants or in wet grass. Also remember that they have a hole in the top that your leg goes into.. They aren't magic. They won't keep your feet dry in the shower or kayaking or whatever if the water level is above the top of the sock. Think of them as rubber boots.

These socks were perfect to put on when stream crossing or getting into ...
Used these for a multiday trek through springtime snow high in the sierras. My feet stayed dry the entire time since I prefer to hike in breathable trail running shoes over terrain that is relatively dry. These socks were perfect to put on when stream crossing or getting into the deeper snowfield. Perfect layering alternative to heavier goretex type boots. Remember these won't breathe as well if using in warmer temperatures or during heavy activity.

Keeps feet dry.
Only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because of the placement of the logo on the bottom of the sock makes it a little weird to wear. But they do keep feet nice and dry.

S*** Owns
Does a good job of keeping feet dry even in very wet conditions - works great when paired with the Seal Skinz overshoe. works well as a cold weather sock as well - as it keeps your feet comfortably swaddled in their own little furnaces of body heat.
