Exactly what I needed
I'd been looking for something to tidy up my vanity area for about a month. My husband had just decided to custom build something for me when i saw this. Typically I only buy Prime, because I'm a sucker for free shipping. However, this looked to be exactly what I needed. So, I gave it a shot.I'm so glad! This is very sturdy and well constructed. No rough edges, cheap or flimsy materials. The size fits my hair drier, 2 curling irons, and a flattening iron. You can arrange the cord lengths to just what you need to reach your hair, and the rest stays neatly coiled inside the box.I put everything back into it's "spot" hot, with no fears that it will burn something. (A definite plus - not having to leave hot hair appliances on the counter- with kids running around the house!)My only complaint is that the power strip that comes with it was mounted with the cord coming out the left side of the box. For my space, I needed it to come out the right side. My husband, handyman that he is, simply took it off and remounted it facing the correct direction. He did not use any of the mounting hardware for the box, as he had specific things he wanted to use. So, I'm not sure about that aspect.Overall, this was a great purchase and I'm sure I'll continue to enjoy using it for years to come.

Quality construction, beautiful organization
I love this organizer. It fits all my tools, is well constructed, organizes the cords very efficiently, and is sleek and pretty to look at.We had to change which side the power cord ran out of, and had some difficulty getting it to pop off so we could flip it. Turns out, we needed to press it down first, then it was able to slide to the right and come off like the directions said.

GREAT INVENTION!!!
OMG!!!! I REALLY LOVE THIS! I am the type of person when looking for something to hold my hair dryer, etc. I hate lots of cords hanging down. I LOVE how the cords are hidden. I also like that I can leave my hair dryer cord not wrapped around the cord winder so all I have to do is just pull the CORD out of its little hole and then when I'm done I just tuck the cord back down in the hole, without ever having to open the door. In the pictures you can't tell, but cords go down in a separate little hole that your appliance. I like that it has screened holes on both sides to release any heat build up from your hot appliances. This is a nice safety feature so the cords don't get hot.I've attached photos so you have an idea of exactly how long the cord is on the powerstrip and what the inside looks like with the cords. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because, I wish the cord for the powerstrip was longer. I had an electrician install an outlet that was higher than most outlets on walls so the cord would reach and I wouldn't have to install the Vanity Valet Boutique so low on the wall (Thus the reason for the no wall plate yet.) Another thing I don't like is, if the powerstrip were to go bad I don't know how difficult it will be to replace it because there are no screws on the back to unscrew the powerstrip. I think it's glued on.I must warn you this product is heavy, I would definitely suggest two people to install this because one needs to hold it level in place and the other to screw the screws in. The heavy duty metal dry wall anchors do a great job and the screws provided are very long. The door on mine opens very hard... it's NOT like you have to put your whole body weight into opening it... but that concerned me at first because of pulling to open the door to unwind cords that it might loosen or pull the product off the wall, but it doesn't seem like it's going anywhere. If you were installing this on paneling, I would suggest putting a board behind it that is anchored into the 2'x4' then install this to the 2'x4'. Yes, I know it might not look the best, but if you paint the 2'x4' it still would be worth getting this because it is a great investment.Even, though there is a hole for the powerstrip cord to come out either side... Like I said I don't know how you would get the powerstrip off. to switch it around. The power strip does allow enough outlets that if you have larger plugs like my hair dryer you still have room to plug your other items in.The last thing I don't like about this item... is definitely the price. I do love it and I know it will last forever. I guess that's why it's so pricey. It is an investment that will last a lifetime, so can you really put a price on that? I just think the company could make a lot more money if the price was a little less more around $100, more people would purchase this.

Nice product, worth the money!
I bought this product because I was getting very tired of looking at the mess of cords from the hairstyling tools in my bathroom. This holder hides and organizes all the cords. It is nice and sturdy and was easy to install. It looks nice , too.

Love this product
Love this product. We had our contractor use drawer slides and he mounted the Vanity Valet inside our vanity cabinet. We had our contractor install electrical outlets in our cabinet so it was fairly easy to install and connect. Everything is neatly tucked away and because it slides in and out - it is very easy to remove your curling iron or blow dryer very easily if you need it for travel. There are stainless steel cylinders in the Vanity Valet so you can place your hot curling iron in the box without a worry. Perfect product!!

Wall Mount Curling Iron, Blow Dryer, and Flat Iron Holder
I purchased this item for a very small bathroom renovation. It was too big, bulky, and heavy to install. Had it returned on February 4, 2014 and am waiting on my refund.

Its decent
Decent item but returned it - ended up running $40 in shipping so keep that in mindIt looks nice, however the intention was to save time and keep the cords organized.Problem is that once its up you have to spend time unwinding the cords pulling them up through the holes, and then rewinding them again when your done. Otherwise the cords just hang out from the bottom. From a design perspective the bottom of the metal tubes that hold the appliances are not indented or shielded thus after continual use there is a great chance that the cords being pulled up through the hole to the right of the tubes will eventually get worn down by the exposed metal. Also the included power strip is designed for straight plugs, or limited plugs. If you have multiple appliances that have the water trip breakers (i.e. the plug is more of a brick), and you are planning on using all 4 holes, you will run out of space on the power strip if you want to leave them all plugged inAll in all if your willing to deal with the above go for it, otherwise wait for a redesign, or look elsewhere
