A great game to bring the family together . This is the extension that takes your fun for four Catan and seafarers game into a optionally 5-6 player game . You have to own both Catan and the seafarers pack to use this extension as well as a Catan extension for the extra two players. Essentially it’s two games and two extensions needed to play this fully .

This is a really fun addition to Catan, which we still love to play, but the pirate addition made the game even more cut-throat than usual. My son and his friends had a great time making and breaking alliances. I can't wait to play again!

Be aware that the product picture above, the THIRD (middle) picture is showing components to the "Explorers & Pirates" Catan Expansion, NOT the pieces that come in the SEAFARERS Catan Expansion game box! The ONLY wooden pieces you get are little ships - 15 of each 4 basic color & 1 black pirate ship, that's it... then you get some "sea" hexes & traditional resource hexes, 2 "GOLD" hexes & desert.That being said, the SeaFarers addition to the Regular Catan Base game is a FANTASTIC expansion! It adds ships to the original Catan game play, but ALSO adds new board layouts & different scenarios (simple adjustments in objectives) but manages to keep the main feel & components of regular Catan game play, & in simple but intriguing ways that keep the game always fresh & inviting.Cities & Knights is also a great expansion, & while it does not change the board parameters (unless going from 3-4 players to 5-6 player size), it adds a depth of game play that we almost always include. The MOST interesting is when we play BOTH the C&K and the SEAFARERS game concepts together - they partner well!
