IDMAX12 V.4 D4 - Image Dynamics 12" 1800W Peak Dual 4-Ohm IDMAX V.4 Series Subwoofer

This sub is the best I've heard. I've had it for almost and year and the sound it produces is warm, tight, and clean, believe you me. My musical taste is quite diverse, and the way this sub accentuates certain notes and provides a rich low end is second to none. It'll knock your musical socks off, I'll tell you that much. If you're looking for a great sub at an affordable price, look no further, my friend. Your neighbors and people around you at traffic lights will thank you for blessing their ears with this gift from God. I was told by some audio professionals that the Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 would be the best sub for a balance between sound quality and spl next to the JL Audio W7 12. And boy they were right. I'm feeding it 500 watts in a custom built enclosure (1.9 cubic ft, tuned 33Hz) and it SLAMS. The bass is very tight, punchy, accurate, and LOW. I wouldnt compare this sub to an Orion HCCA or RE XXX. Those are more so spl subs and meant to handle twice the power. Overall, if you want a sub with the perfect balance between sq and spl and cant pay JL prices this is your sub. Well worth the money.

Got this sub and had to wait to have it installed in my car. Had the installer call image dynamics to get the right box size and after playing it at normal volume the leads co.e off the voice coil.

One of the best subwoofers in production. Image dynamics makes some of the best speakers in the market. These are hand made in the US and the quality is top notch. They can be used in any kind of box and sound great! Powered them with 1000w rms and they pound and sound very accurate. Well worth the money!

Sounds awesome. I have it in a ported box built to spec and it still sounds very accurate. I would like to try it in a sealed box though.

Superb sub! Sounds amazing and hits low!

Had an IDMAX12 v4 d2 mounted in a 2 cu ft enclosure tuned to 32hz. I gave it roughly 700 to start with. This sub bottomed out at 35hz. One coil is fried due to the sub unloading and becoming non-linear. If all you have is 500 watts in a ported enclosure, you've hit max RMS power. Anything more, and this thing will self destruct.
