but be aware that if you want to use it for the full 90in span, you have to support it with the hardware that they include, according to the instructions. i tried it in a large entryway and it fell, and i didn't want to put in the "hook" to support.for smaller spans, in the 60 to 65 inch range, it seems to work just fine as a tension rod. solid and heavyweight. i bought a second one, and i wouldn't have if i didn't think it was a good product.

I bought this after my shower curtain rod broke (it was a 90 degree angle rod that wrapped around the tub) and I wanted something that would go straight across the entire tub space including the 2.5 feet of marble shelf at the end of the tub. So I was looking at about an 83 inch rod. I wasn't sure that this would be sturdy enough to hold the shower curtain and thought I might have to get a support piece for the middle, but it's been up a few weeks now with no problems. I think it probably helps that the ends of the rod are kind of resting on top of the tile tub surround, which may add some extra support, but the middle isn't sagging at all and on the whole, it looks great! I couldn't find anything this length in any of the local stores so I'm glad I found this here.

I ordered two of these, and one is more stable than the other. I used one in a smaller space and that one was more stable than the rod used at a wider setting. That said, they are both quite sturdy. I'm happy with the product. I didn't use the screw; I'm just basing my review on the tension option.

I’m using this rod in my extra wide windows just to hold a window treatment that won’t be opened and closed. For that reason the rod is suitable it will really be used just for looks.

I don't know why I just don't check Amazon first before wasting gas and time driving around from store to store to find items that are usually substandard than what I find on here...anyway, I digress. So after taking the flimsy, cheap tension rod back to a big name brick and mortar, I ended up purchasing this item because I didn't want to fuss with necessary screws and deal with damage to walls since I am just renting a place temporarily. The item arrived within days and I paid no shipping. The rod itself was exactly as shown/described. It is solid, but not too heavy, and definitely not flimsy. It worked perfectly for my windows on curtains that are not very lightweight. Within less than a minute (it seemed), I was enjoying my new curtains and less glare from outside. Would definitely order again.

My application for these tension rods is for an extra wide opening on my screened porch to hang a lined valance that matches the cushions on our wicker furniture. Even though the curtains weren't long or flowing it was a considerable weight for the expanse, not a job for a flimsy rod. The quality of these rods exceeded my expectations, so sturdy. I was surprised to find a middle support bracket in the package that I was not able to incorporate into my design but I could see that being a helpful feature for another application. The bronze finish was beautiful and matched the decor as well. The spring tension in the rod was easily adjustable and in my estimation will stand the test of time.

The rod is an attractive and highly functional item we picked up to hang curtains as a room divider. The only issue was in the packing. The small pieces were not secure in the box and not all of the pieces made it to us. In order to receive one screw and one bracket, I was told to return the entire item. We needed the item in place immediately so are still without the bracket and screw.

I'm glad that these come with screws you can use to mount the pole into the sides of the wall. I have two Moondream curtains hanging from this in between my apartment living room and hallway. Make sure to twist the tension of the rod after installing the screws and mounting the pole to the end pieces screwed into the wall. Give it some tension, and you'll have a strong tension + screw mounted pole to hang your curtains. It works great.

Nice construction and finish on this curtain rod. Much better than anything I found at ikea. The rubber at the ends definitely leaves marks on the walls but those can be cleaned with a magic eraser... Highly recommend!
