What!!?!? If been living under a rock... these things are the bees knees.. I just used them to wire up an aftermarket stereo in a car and boy am I impressed.I used a heat gun I bought from a big box store. Nothing special.. takes a little bit to melt the solder but it melts without burning the shrink.. the solder melted entirely and completely covered the joint. Then I moved to the edges and finished heating up the glue and heat shrink.. make an excellent connection and superb protection.I added another layer of heat shrink to cover the whole connection and about .5 inch down the wire.. mainy for looks as the connection did just fine.Told all my friends about this.. and will buy again for sure..Don't listen to negative nacy reviews.. they can't be using it right.

way better products out there spend a few extra $$$! 1 out of 3 melted and held!!!! yes even using a heat gun the plastic burned before the solder melted

I do lots of marine wiring and used to always buy normal heatshrink connectors that you have to crimp first then apply heat. They work okay but it's too easy to damage the heat shrink when using the crimpers on it and then when you heat it it burns through the weakened area and you're starting over or don't notice it and have corrosion and failure. These work great, solder melts well with a normal heat gun or butane and once it flows, the connection is as good as uncut wire. It's the only way to go.

These are my go to connectors most of the time. Much easier than having to handle the tools to perform a traditional solder wiring job.Slide a connector on 1 of the wires, strip wires, twist together slide connector over the twist, and apply heat. I set my heat gun to 800 degrees, fan on high, and watch the solder melt into the wires. Job done.

As a mechanic I use these often. Made a perfect connection & I will repurchase again when I am out.
