Accurate, easy to use, lightweight, and great value!
I normally don't get too excited about everyday items and don't write many reviews, but this one couldn't go without a few words of praise. I read other reviews and decided to try it because...the price was right too. This cutter is lightweight and very, very accurate. The measurement indicators and lines on the base help tremendously to ensure your cuts are straight. It is very easy to see where the blade is going to cut, so you know your cut line not going to be off center. I also cut 4 pieces of cardstock paper at the same time with ease. Would I buy this again? Absolutely!

Compact and effective for my need
The media could not be loaded. I frequently cut from various kinds of paper for art purposes. As a photographer and graphic artist, I want to make the prints I put out look professional and that's hard to do with just a regular pair of scissors. At one of my old workplaces, they had a large, old-fashion guillotine cutter and it worked great so I wanted to try to find something similar in a smaller package. After several test runs I can say this item makes nice, smooth cuts and is built with safety in mind. For heavier paper you may need to push down a little harder while moving the blade but it's no big problem. And when you aren't using it, it is small enough to put away without taking up much space. That's good for me living in a small apartment.

Does this trick!
Works well, nice extra features like the blade on a spring to control when you cut. Pivoting arm helps for larger paper. Little flimsy for my liking, but great for the occasional use.

5 year owner - perfect in every way
I have owned this for 5 years and it constantly wows me. It's compact, fast, efficient and gets the job done quickly. Everything you need. It cuts through paper as well as my 5mm laminated sheets with zero issues. The cutting mechanism allows you to lift it up and easily glide over the paper, then press down and slide when you want to cut. The ruler guides are extremely helpful in keeping the cut lines straight and at 90 degree angles. I remember when thinking about buying it I thought the cutting mechanism looked cheap compared to the office ones I see, but it is not cheap at all. It's durable and well made and actually much more efficient than the office cutters.

Simple and functional
I rate this a 4.5. It's lightweight and arrived without any issues. I liked the packaging, which did not require tearing anything apart to open, and can be used to store the cutter if desired. It was self-explanatory to use even without reading the instructions and works well enough for what I need it to do. I have only used it for cutting cardstock and the only issue I have experienced is that edge of the paper that the cutter first approaches needs to be free from any creases or texture issues, otherwise the cutter blade just stops when it reaches the edge and doesn't cut it at all. You have to cut off the creased or wrinkled area before the cutter blade can glide over it. Overall, I'm pleased with the cutter for the price that I paid but if planning on heavy duty use, I'd recommend a sturdier cutter.

Lightweight, small footprint, easy to use; the extension arm tucks into the bottom
- I've been struggling with an old bypass cutter that's huge and heavy, and never did make straight cuts. I wanted to cut some paper for making modular origami and lost patience. So I looked around on Amazon and chose this paper cutter. I liked the overall-black color because it contrasts with any paper, etc., color I might decide to use, without visually "clashing" with any, and the white lines are easy for me to see. It also had received decent reviews.- The small cutter-head unit is orange, but it's not large enough to be visually distracting, yet plainly visible.- I also liked the transparent paper holder because of the visibility - I don't have to strain to see through a color, and cam instantly see the alignment of my sheet(s). Plus, again, "transparent" doesn't clash, ergo, it reduces eyestrain.- It's plastic, but it seems to be the kind that will last a very long time, which works well for me, since I tend to keep things for as long as they still work. To that end, I also went ahead and bought a package of six replacement cutting heads (B095WSLXPK to be exact).- Since it *is* plastic, it is VERY light-weight, and it's also small enough that I can use it on my lap-desk.- Those two factors are definite "plusses" for me.It seems to be sturdy enough and, although I've only done a few cuts with it so far, it seems to have good accuracy. The extending arm tucks into the bottom and is fastened with a screw which does keep it from flopping around. I haven't actually tried using it yet, but right off the proverbial bat, I like that it's optional, and integrates into the bottom of the main unit when it's not in use. Meaning, it's also easy to *store*. I can put it back into its package and slip the whole thing into a small drawer.- The description says it will cut "up to 12 sheets of paper", but I wouldn't bother trying to cut that many because it's too easy for paper to slip, which then causes inaccurate cuts. It also wears the cutting blade out faster. I'm happy with accurately cutting one, or a very few, sheets.-- There seem to be several nearly-identical variants of this item being sold, and I might have been able to save a dollar had I put in the time to search longer and try something with fewer reviews, but I'm perfectly happy with this one.
