Amazon Basics Indoor Cat Condo Ottoman, 15 x 17 Inches, Khaki

This was for my mom's cat. She's teeny. It is very a sturdy cat condo.The legs are solid chunks of wood. They screw on easily with the allen wrench tool that is included. They keep it several inches off the ground to prevent drafts inside and also help it look nice in your home.The pink fabric is soft pink. Very soft. It's cute.I think if you are under a certain weight you could actually sit on this it is so sturdy feeling. Not sure what that weight is though.As with most cats, this cat is very particular and doesn't use it yet. Maybe she will try it out one day or maybe we will put catnip in there to encourage the use. She might not be a cave/condo kinda cat. You can't force a cat to do anything, so we will wait to see if she uses it.It looks cozy inside if you have a cat that you know likes cat condos.

It must be noted at the outset that this furnishing is constructed primarily out of a what seems to be some sort of thin wood composite material. Since I am nearly 240 pounds, I have therefor not made a habit of putting my whole weight on it, or even partial weight for extended periods, but rather use it primarily as a footrest. Nevertheless, I have say on it now and again for up to half an hour and this far see no significant signs of buckling or warping in the outer walls. Which is a surprise given the afore-mentioned light construction and the fact that the outer walls of the cylinder are the thinnest part of the construction.Assembly was a little more complicated than you might expect given the limited number of pieces (mostly because the tight confines of the inner cylinder) but still pretty straightforward on the whole, taking about thirty minutes and probably being doable for even the least handy person.It’s worth noting that my own cats have never gone near this thing except to occasionally stand on it and show zero interest in going inside. Even had they done so, the fabric material is so thin over the wood-like surface as to provide virtually no softness, so I don’t think many cats are going to find it the most comfortable place to slumber, particularly given the tight space in the center, but obviously this is a your mileage will vary thing: some cats will sleep just about anywhere and some prefer hard surfaces and small spaces. On the whole, if you are not a super heavy person, this is probably worth taking a chance on, if you like the idea of the potential two useful functions. I’ve given a four-star review instead of a five only because I think the nature of the construction could be made more evident in the description, but I’ve kept the score at four because (after a few months) the mini-ottoman has continued to hold up under the weight of my occasionally sitting on it for short periods, so I can’t conclusively say it doesn’t function for its intended purpose. If you are heavier than I am, however, I would stay clear of it for any purpose other than resting your feet and possibly providing your kitty with a resting nest.

My cats use it to sit on top of it, never inside. I can’t blame Amazon for that!It’s easy to assemble but at the same time a bit awkward since you have to screw the legs from the inside. One thing I noticed is that even when putting the screws pretty tight the legs do rotate a bit after some weeks of cat-use.Display wise, I like it. Doesn’t look cheap/bad and it easy to combine with my home decor.

This was bigger, and sturdier than I expected. I still wouldn’t recommend sitting on it, unless you are a small child. But it is quite roomy for my cat. Very soft, without any chemically smell. It does “shed” a little, but I think after a few weeks that will go away. Easy to assemble and exactly what I needed.

Bought in May, was so super happy with it. Almost bought a second one for my mom. Sat on it to put my shoes on like I had on occasion for months (I weigh 170Ibs) and the legs pushed in. I was only using it occasionally like I said , so no reason to break.I added pictures.It’s supposed to be flat on bottom, and not at an angle when up right. Very disappointed in the quality, I didn’t even have it for a year before it just broke.

Unfortunately I had to return this because my kitten went into only a handful of times. She never slept in it, and didn’t care much for it in the month that I had it. It was easy to assemble with the wrench included in the packaging. The only thing I should note is that the inside of the condo has 3 spots where the screw is showing, so it is not entirely soft. The pictures didn’t show it, so I figured it would have been nice to know. It’s an okay value if you want something that looks nice, but I just bought a true cat tree instead for the exact same price and my kitten is thrilled. If you have a kitten, you should probably opt for the more kitten-approved fun space!

Order this item for our new kitten and it was on my doorstep within 12 hours! Upon opening it and screwing the legs out to assemble, I rolled it over as I got up to find the proper tools, and surprise! It came with it! Little Seaweed (😻) has been in and out of it all day! So it's a hit! The only thing is I do believe it could be easily knocked over if a heavier cat was to sit on it funny, due to the 3 legs. However my kids have been sitting on it too with no issues. I recommend it, it's a really nice looking cat house👍👍

It came to me damaged, wrong color and its very Hard , not a nice ottoman. But it is big. Cats liked it. I loved the legs, very sturdy.
