Works in the AO Smith 30 gallon short water heater.
Working so far. No issues. Hopefully it will last longer than the stock element did of 5 years.

Exact fit and holds up well and good price.
This is the third Reliance water heater element I have purchased for my vacation river house of the last 13 years. This one replaced a lower element that lasted 13 years. The two other elements were used in the upper and the only reason they went bad is family members who have used the house have failed to properly bleed the air from the hot water tank. I keep a spare handy because it always seems to be a holiday weekend when family is using the house and and one of the elements has gone bad. I turn off the water pump when the house is empty and drain down the system. Purchase a correctly matched deep socket to remove and install the element, An open end wrench, pump pliers or pipe wrench will not fit the recess and you will only damage the plastic electrical connection if you try. Apply even steady pressure when turning the old element out. Took me 5 minutes to drain the tank and 10 minutes to install. Shipping was fast with Amazon Prime. TURN OFF THE POWER FIRST

Worked great
I bought 2 of these to replace in my water heater. The only caveat is that the top element I removed was different than the bottom one. The bottom one matched this replacement perfectly. The top one was twice as long and folded over. I think they are both rated at 4500W so it should be fine. It seems the water is not as hot as before, but close enough.

The water is hot again.
Was not very happy when the elements went out in the water heater.I ordered these from amazon and after a bit of a fight to remove the old elements...these screwed right in,and now I can go back to regular showering,lol...great price also compared to my local hardware stores, got two of these for less than one local.

Saving your water heater
Since I have lived in my current "old" house, built in 1927, I have replaced two waterheaters. My current one stopped making hot water. To make sure I had the right parts, I checkedthoroughly and bought two of these elements. Already have an element wrench, so ready to go asI have replaced an element on the previous water heater. I feel "armed and ready". And amazonhad them at a good price. That's it folks!

Falsely Advertised Brand Name
The one that I received is not made by Reliance. It is an APCOM 100108284 replacement for it. Seems to be OK though.

Reliance 9000092-045 4500 Watt 240 Volt Screw In Flange Element
Had problems with 15 year old water heater tripping the upper thermostat reset switch, causing the heater to not heat the water. Various online sources indicated that it was best to replace both elements and both thermostats. Makes sense when the parts are that old and cost less than 50 bucks to replace. Drained the heater, swapped in the new parts, refilled the tank and the water heater works great! This was an actual replacement for the old part, not some universal gadget. Highly recommended!

An exact match for a 65220RT2 Reliance water heater
This was precisely what we needed to fix our water heater. The lower element had died after nearly 15 years of irregular use. Easy to replace with instructions online.
