Xcelite SD3V 3-Piece Phillips Pocket Clip Screwdriver Set

Everyone I know who works as a Broadcast Maintenance "Engineer" has this set of screwdrivers and wouldn't part with them for anything. They are just the right size for the small screws used in the assembly of many connectors such as the popular XLR line and are also the standard we use to access adjustable parts such as potentiometers on circuit boards. The green sloted screwdriver is so popular that it has been referred to as a "greenie" for as long as I can remember. I was so pleased to find these sets at Amazon that I bought all of the five that were in stock at the time. I asked if any of my co-workers wanted a set and the response was "get a set for me" from each of them. I heard a lot of comments like "where did you find them?" These screwdrivers have a clip and are usually carried around in the shirt pocket. The are strong and retain their usefullness for years. The only problem is that sooner or later they will get lost and again a search is needed, so buy more than one set.

Great little kit

I had a set that were just worn down by the previous tech. I liked the size, so I did some searching and was happy as a lark when I found Weller made this delicious 3-pack. I ordered two of 'em. Love the colored handles and pocket clips. LOVE them! Use them almost everyday at work.

The product was advert as quality tool, precision capable and durable.The first time the slotted tip was used to turn/tweak screws on a breaker panel, the blade warped at the corners. The Phillips tip metal composition is not dense enough to turn industrial pan-head screws.The drivers drop-test fine, but the clip on the handle lost tension within days, causing the drivers to drop out of pocket whenever the user angles-over or reaches tight. What is the point of the pocket clips if they do not hold fast during working maneuvers? These drivers must be for hobby toys, not work.

Xcelite is known to be a no-frill, no-nonsense tool. But instead of the manufacturer's parts numbers, what are the real specs on these drivers? Glad you asked:The R181 is a 1/8 inch slotted screwdriver.The R3322 is a 3/32 inch slotted screwdriver.The P12S is a #0 Phillips.Yep, these are tiny tools for tiny screws. Awesome.

These drivers can last a lifetime with care. People love to sneak them into their tool box. I managed to keep mine. Some I have are 50 years old!

MADE IN CHINA!!!!!! Disappointed! I mean, the quality seems good, very similar to all my old USA Xcelite stuff. The seller needs to change the picture because this is now false advertising. I'm going to keep 'em because I opened the package, but I would have passed if I knew they were Chinese manufacture, especially for the price!

I've been using these three pocket screwdrivers for 45 years and have only worn out a few. It's been a while since I purchased new ones and was pleased to see that the quality of workmanship has not seemed to have changed in all these years. You can't say that for many things these days.
