Grat build quality
Great little HT for the price. It feels good in the hand, has great transmit and receive sound quality and the little extra power in the 7W helps me hit repeaters I couldn't get to before. Check the manual or online for how to enable the EH power (extra high power). It's a little hidden but there. A few guys in my radio club have them and like them. Decent stock antenna and good battery life too.

Like them
They are fantastic. We use them while we were RV ing with family. We could communicate while we were on the road, even when they were like a mile ahead. In addition when we are helping the driver of the RV either parking or something else, communication is faster than the mobile phone.

Great Radio - Instructions horrible
First off let me go over the positives about this unit. I had an ICom 5 (I think that was the model) handheld radio and loved it.It got lost during a move and had to replace it. Went with ICom again. This unit is just as good. Solid, well built, good reception and clear transmit. There are a number of accessories you can get and make it into a base unit. Price is very reasonable for this radio. Now for the not so good.Trying to program this radio is frustrating (at least for me) and the instructions are horrible and misleading for certain functions. Had to go on YouTube to get information on how to program certain functions.Maybe you'll have better luck with the instructions than I did, but it is a solid little radio worth buying.

Disappointed
I spent days trying to get this radio to connect with several repeaters. I followed the instructions and then went to U-tube for more info. Nothing worked. Maybe it was just this one radio. So I sent it back. I have 30 years of being a ham operator.

High quality radio at a good price
If you want a rugged high-quality radio that just plain works, this might just be for you. I got mine fresh out of the box and was on the air within minutes. The speaker is big and loud and delivers high quality sound. It feels very well made and will probably last as long as I need it. Only cons are the rubber ducky antenna is just enough to get you started but eventually needs to be replaced with something better, but that's to be expected. Also it's not super intuitive to use but not too bad either.

A fine, high quality radio.
A fine radio! When you take it from the box you can feel the quality.I’m still learning the programming. I like the ease of manual programming. Although you can buy a cable and program with a computer. I’d rather do it manually and learn more about it.As for transmitting and receiving. It seems to do a fine job with 4 power settings. I also really like the rugged BNC antenna connector.Overall, it is a fine radio and a good value... I’d recommend, Highly!
