Working good, especially for the price
I am really happy with this indicator so far, especially for the price. I have only used this a short bit but the accuracy and precision seem solid, the readings have been consistent and the action is smooth. I purchased the unit with 0.0001" graduations and a 0-0.25" range (HHIP 4400-1250). From the testing I am able to do, I am confident the unit is making good readings within a thousandth of an inch and it seems to be consistent within a few ten thousandths of an inch (but that is at the edge of what I can test/verify, might be better don't know). The indicator came in a will labeled card stock box with a 2 piece Styrofoam insert. It worked well mounted to a magnetic base using the lug on the dial's back and in a bore gauge mounting on the stem. Any shortcomings so far are consistent with the price and more about details than core to the unit (lack of a case, plastic window, etc).

Great for the price.
Very good for the price. I took it apart to build into a custom measuring tool. There's some cheap parts in there, it's not a Mitutoyo. It has some backlash in the gears, but a tiny spring always puts tension on them for 0 net error. What I'm measuring can have .0001" error, this still ends up very repeatable. The threads at the top and bottom are 4-48, for installing custom tips. DO NOT hold the body and unscrew the tips, only hold the rod for that. It's the same size as others with a 1' range, good for compatibility, but I would have shortened the rod to increase stiffness because it doesn't need to be that long for range.

Good value
I use it for some rougher and dirtier jobs at work and it hold up well. No noticeble drift or inaccuracy and for the price I'm not terrified of it getting smashing or whipped by chips haha

Jeweled movement works perfectly.
I've been an engineer for 55 years. I've bought a lot of Starett tools in my life and needed a large dial indicator for a project. I am very pleased with the jeweled movement. It is smooth and does not bind at all.

it wont hurt as bad. I got this to use with a magnetic ...
Simple and cheap, internals are clean and deburred, action is smooth. For a cheaper indicator that sill has some kind of brand on it you can't go wrong. When you drop it, it wont hurt as bad. I got this to use with a magnetic back HFS (Tm) Magnetic Base Indicator Back holder For AGD2 1" Dial Indicator so I wanted a cheap one being I will more likely damage this one.
