Time to try a new brand
I've owned these boots (actually not quite this exact boot - they've changed them a little) for about a year. The leather on mine has lasted very well. I mink oil them often, but I'm also almost costantly in rocky mud with them. The problem I had was with the soles. They recently started cracking, and they're coming apart. The boots were waterproof, but now water flows right in. They're rapidly crumbling now.I don't expect any boot to last more than a year, but I still had to knock these down two stars for the soles. Not only did they come apart, but about 6 months in, they started "clicking".Not sure how to describe it - but I believe there's a piece of stell that runs down the sole, and that flexing of that steel clicks while you walk. It's loud enough to be annoying, and you can feel it click. People could hear me coming from the click. That clicking lasted for months, it finally stopped, but that's when the rubber started falling apart.I WAS considering purchasing a new pair, and taking my chances that they won't be clickers. But then I saw that carhartt was nice enough to mold in a heel support - which just happens to give them a big space to advertise their name.My first pair needed no extra heel support. If I wanted to be a walking carhartt advertisement, they can pay me with a lower boot price.I won't buy them now for that reason alone. Not only do I not want to be a walking billboard - I just think it looks stupid.I'm going to try another brand.

These boots suck.
These boots are horribly uncomfortable and will leave you gimping around with torn up feet. Get something else instead. They aren't waterproof either - mine leak like sieves. They're going in the garbage where they belong.
